Do you finish all routes? Or games you have quit in middle

I often drop otome games halfway through, I don't even know why

i tend to finish all routes even if some of them im not feeling. i just cant leave a route unfinished, it bothers me and my completionist mindset. when its a route thats pretty boring i just skip through it more, mashing that button to get the route over with.

I usually try to read every route because sometimes important parts of the story are revealed in the other routes. But there are a few vn that I just couldn't bring myself to finish. And I kind of feel guilty about that...

The latter. I only play personal doted routes and I wouldn't like to be forced playing routes that I'm not even intrigued bcs thats TORTUROUS asfff. Based on exp, I wouldn't even have had the energy to continue reading and just skim hoping it will end soon.

It depends on the game! If I really love it, I'll finish every route. But if I'm not enjoying it, I'll just play the characters I'm interested in and move on. My backlog is already way too big to force myself through a game. 😅

If I take a break from this game for a while, my interest in it will decrease. Then, when I open it again later, I probably won't feel like playing it anymore. So generally speaking, I need to keep playing this game continuously without interruption.

But it really comes down to whether I like the game or not. If I'm still into it, I'll play , but my interest does tend to wear off quickly.

For the last couple of years, I can not finish all routes in the game unless the game is too interesting for me. I used to blame myself for this, but not anymore. So nowadays I just enjoy whatever game I want and maybe finish the games which I put on hold

I always plan to finish all the routes and full-clear a game, but just like some of you, I rarely actually manage to do it! I get distracted by other games so easily. I end up playing on-and-off, so a lot of times I just pause or drop games right in the middle because something else caught my attention.

I try finishing every single otomege I play but if any of the LIs seems too much like something I hate then I don't force myself. I'm very restrictive with my time so I really don't want to waste it with bad experiences.

Games I didn't finish: Olympia Soiree (Akaza) and Black Wolves Saga (Nesso and the twins).
Akaza is very much the type of LI I hate the most; For Nesso I don't like his looks, not into pseudo incest and he even pissed me off a lot of times while I was playing so he pretty much dug his own grave; As for the twins I also don't like their looks and I don't play otomeges to have a babysitter experience.
Not a route but I also skipped all the drifter section in the Virche FD bc I don't buy FDs for this type of content 😭

I don't mind pushing myself through the routes of characters I don't vibe with if the writing is good enough. There were many characters who weren't my type, but I ended up really liking their stories! The only route I've skipped halfway through was Kuroba from Olympia Soiree, but I'm planning to go back to him eventually since I want to get the sequel. Even so, I'm a completionist and just can't bring myself to drop a game if there is at least one character I really like (◡ ω ◡)

I'm a completionist so I do all the routes even if I do read sometimes really fast lol
But I do understand that time is precious and people would rather spend it on things they like.

i only 100%-ed a game that seriously suits my taste (in terms of story, setting, characters). sometimes i just skipped a route entirely if the ML's personality just too much to handle (for me). with that said, thanks to this forum recs & vndb i can search for VNs keywords and characters first then fully commit my spare time to play them!!

also advertising you guys to play matsurika no kei & yoshiwara higanbana (these are two games that's lived in my head rent free & I've completed all the endings). currently playing MnK's fd rn

i'm guilty of using the skip button if i can't stand a character OR if i'm forced to do the bad endings/all endings to achieve something. i admit that bad endings, when done half assed, just piss me off too much, so i'd rather not do them at all sometimes if not needed.

I prefer finishing every route, but I've quit a few games halfway because the writing just wasn't good enough to keep me interested.

it depends tbh. i usually only go for LI that i like, but if the story is somehow requires you to finish all route for better experience (or to unlock a certain route) i would finish all routes :D

I'm a completionist who needs to clear the game 100% before moving on. I can't start another one until I've seen everything. I'm a very curious person, so even if a route doesn't catch my attention, I try not to form an opinion about it before playing. Even so, I play through all of them for the sake of the plot. Otherwise, I feel like I don't know the whole story, and I don't like to talk about a game as if I've already played it if I left it incomplete.

I always follow the recommended order going for bad endings first then save the good ending for the very end.

Usually, I stop playing once I've finished the route for my favorite character.
If the story is really interesting, I might play a little further and explore it in more depth, but I rarely aim to complete the whole game.
It's only when I'm really hooked that I want to unlock every route and learn all the details of the story, and then I'll aim for 100% completion.

In my case, it can take me a long time to complete a game if it's long, and even though it's difficult, I don't leave it unfinished; I always finish it. I wish I could say I only play what I want and leave the rest unfinished or not at all, but I'm uncomfortable leaving something incomplete; that's why, even though it's hard, I finish it. I perfectly understand that a game is meant to be enjoyed, but that nagging feeling of not finishing something and not fully understanding what it's about stays with me.
That's why, to avoid that bitterness, I always play the route I think will be my favorite last, so that having gotten through even the ugliest or most boring parts feels like a reward.
