Can't add words to Atlas dictionary

Wondering if anybody can help me.

I just got a new computer and so i'm trying to set up Atlas with ITH and TA. everything seems to be working fine, but I can't add new words to the dictionary. Whenever i copy the word in Japanese with reads as ???? (only question marks). I'm using Windows 8.1
