Win 7 here - Game can be run successfully without any third-party manipulation, so apparently no crack is needed/available.

Check if your anti-virus software blocked it?

P.S. NOT installed at the default path, no ideas if this is also related.

Have just come back from another forum - there, a number of people also complain about this, too. And someone over there shared a modified exe - I'm not able to share it directly here, but you may try to modify it yourselves (backup the original game exe (i.e. Wannabe.exe) first):

0. Open the Wannabe.exe with your favorite hex editor.
1. Search for 45 98 6A 18 50 E8 DA (at around address 0006F930), and modify the 18 to 77.
2. Search for 98 50 6A 18 68 (at around address 0006F9E0), and modify the 18 to 77.

It still runs in Win7 for me after the modification.
