Takeo lives at a love hotel in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho, working as a janitor and cleaning after the guests leave. He is quite tired and listless during the day since he suffers from chronic insomnia. The only way he can fall sound asleep is by killing someone. Thus, he works behind the scenes as an assassin for the head of the ruling gang in order to get a good night’s sleep. Even though it’s an extremely risky business, the days were relatively stable and peaceful.
One day, Takeo met the call girl Azami. When he embraced her, he had the best sleep that he’d ever had, so he thought about keeping her by his side. However, she was being chased by his boss, which meant that keeping her would amount to turning against him and an end to his peaceful life.
