could just be me but setup.exe isn't working. it activates but nothing ever happens. tried dragging the game folder onto hard drive and starting the game there but that didn't work either

Same for me. It seems that this game have the same problems as ＪＫおむchu♥. Someone told me that you need full japanese OS installed (not just japanese locale, format etc.) for that. Or virtual box. But i'm too lazy to try something like that because of just few games. Someone else told me that it's working with xupefei Locale Emulator. But it didn't for me.

i see. well, i just tried the directions the guy in that omuchu thread gave about creating a profile in the GUI with fake system UI language and it worked for me

Step 1: download Locale Emulator in https://github.com/xupefei/Locale-Emulator/releases
Step 2: Run LEInstaller.exe .
Step 3: Select the options like images:

You can install normally.
When running the game you also use Local Emulator.

Use this. Copy the whole game folder, and delete file named TayutamaAS inside it(one that is not an exe).
then overwrite the exe with the one below and run it.

I got it ruuning with latest LocalEmulator from github release.
Have just set fake UI to default settings in LocalEmulator on my Windows 10 64bit run with japanese unicode mode.
