Summary: One day, Kou meets his younger-brother-by-a-different-mother Kotoi, who told him that he will kill him. Apparently, he was the successor to the throne of darkness and by killing him, Kotoi would be the heir instead. Adding to the mix was Abe no Seimei, who was asked by Kou and Kotoi's father to train and make sure Kou wouldn't die before inheriting the throne.
There's also the manga, which I'm also requesting in another thread. So far, there was about 20-24 books in this series, counting the gaiden/specials. I'll be really happy if somebody can posted the raws here! (There is the complete series in Otomedream but there's no viable way for me to gain zeny so I have no luck getting the password)
