Can't say until i play it myself, and even then I would need to play a little using ITH or similar, half the time games i thought were meh turned out better when i took the time to properly play them.

In general fantasy settings with adventurers and magic and the like are perfect for corruption and betrayal, sadly almost no one tries it much less translates it, like you can see something like it in many revenge novels but the betrayal of the companions is mostly in the background or prologue...
