6+ is too many. I'll accept a hidden romance or one that's secret but they have to be built in and not just shoehorned into the plot to hit the love interest goal. I want substance and relationship building and I find the more love interests the less you get to know them as the game will become...
I think the reason we cringe or are uncomfortable with English voice acting is because the voices sound forced in my opinion. The voice actors try and appeal to certain genres of people and most people these days enjoy the "eboy" or "daddy" voices which sound horrific especially when it's...
Definitely care more about the protagonist. She needs to have substance and something that grips me as her role in the story is much bigger than one of the LIS. Obviously the LIS need to be fleshed out as well but one or two bad ones doesn't put me off the game fully :)
The story and artwork mostly. It has to have an interesting premise for me to pick it up and even better if the MC has some sort of personality than just a doormat. VNs are always exciting when I notice the similar voice acting but otherwise I never really look it up.
Hadaka shitsuji fandisc in English - Pre-ordered for June. I'll post it when I get it unless someone else has first. ✨ - Might not be able to post it till I'm back from holiday. 😭
My absolute favourite is the lovely Neji Kokuto. His route, story telling, character design, background is the best written broken character I've seen in a realistic setting. Also his voice is beautiful.
Not really as I follow the recommended route order. I usually prefer to leave my favourite character for the second route or third so I can look forward to something.
I do a lot. I sometimes go months without picking up a game then suddenly the urge comes back and I'm 8 hours into one.
It's more reading than anything as reading makes me tired which I can't always afford to do.
Yang from Piofore. The fact the man could just stab a woman who loved him to kill the man he wants to kill...or to sell her when he gets bored. That dude was ruthless.
School settings are boring and anyone romancing a character that's in school shouldn't be over the age of 18. I'm looking at you teacher/older men; keep your hands off that 15/16 year old. 👁️ 👄 👁️
Honestly setting interest me first, the premise of the story. Where is it set, what age range are the characters. Then it's the artwork, I adore more unique art compared to the standard otome look so the more interesting the designs are the more likely I am to pick it up.
I actually really enjoy mascot characters, I love Kuma (Teddie) from persona 4 for example. I just adore those sort of loveable but interesting dynamics between a protagonist and someone not human (or are in secret routes) sometimes they are the voice of reason in certain routes too which I enjoy.
Eughh kinda? It depends on how much I like the characters or if, like in rune factory 2, it affects the kids born then I don't mind it but otherwise I'm kinda selfish and want all the love interests. (Poly mod on stardew valley? Yes please haha.)
