  1. Are true routes / grand finale routes something you enjoy?

I like them, but true routes or finale routes never end up being my favorite. My favorite route is almost always my favorite LI's bad ending or best ending—in other words, their romance route. As for the finale route, I enjoy it more as a nice bonus or a special treat. Like you mentioned, I...
  2. did otome games/anime adaptations get you listening to more japanese music?

Yes! Ever since I got into otome games, I've definitely started listening to a lot more Japanese music. I don't really listen to J-Pop idol music, though—I mostly listen to anime songs, otome game soundtracks, and Vocaloid music haha.
  3. What do you think about gender selection in otome games?

Wow, I personally don't consider games with a gender-selectable MC to be otome games. To me, an otome game is one where the MC is a woman and the LIs are men. If the MC is male and the LIs are also male, I'd consider it a BL game. If the MC is female and the LIs are male, it's an otome game. If...
  4. Dark Mode or Light Mode user?

I just found out there's a dark mode because of this post. I didn't realize so many people use dark mode!
  5. Are you okay with ROs pursuing someone else?

If it's an RPG or another genre with romance elements rather than an actual otome game, then I'm totally fine with it. Like Stardew Valley, for example. In an otome game, though, I definitely want the LI to only have eyes for the MC. If they have feelings for someone else, they're an instant...
  6. What’s your fave “overused” otome trope?

Hahaha, I have a soft spot for LIs who secretly love sweets but are embarrassed about it or try to hide it. I especially love it when the MC is the only one who notices. It always seems to be the cool, stoic types who end up having this trope, and I never get tired of it.
  7. If you ended up in an otome game, which role do you think you'd be?

I'd probably just be an NPC, haha. Maybe the MC's friend, or just one of those background characters who shows up for like one scene. If I did get to be the MC, though, I'd definitely want to be the MC from Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side!! As much as I absolutely love Virche Evermore and Even if...
  8. How do you feel about a guy playing otome?

Guys can absolutely play otome games! I don't have any issue with it. As long as they're just enjoying them as gamers, they're more than welcome. But if they play them and then start critiquing them from a male perspective, saying things like, "Women would never like someone like this," "This is...
  9. How important is the MC in your opinion?

I completely agree!! I don't think an MC needs to be fully voiced or have an especially beautiful design either. Of course, full voice acting can make it easier to follow the story compared to just reading text, but to me, that's just a nice bonus. An MC's design feels more like a secondary...
  10. LIs having romances with other characters

I absolutely hate it. Even if an LI is forced to act like they're dating someone else because they're being blackmailed or has to push the MC away for some reason, I can deal with that. But if an LI genuinely falls in love with another character? That's honestly the worst. I've never played an...
  11. Do you prefer otome game with gameplay element or just text reading element only?

I'd say I enjoy both, but if a game has gameplay elements, it's usually only fun on my first playthrough. When I start doing multiple routes, those sections can become a bit tiring. Because of that, I tend to find games with mostly text more relaxing to play. That said, even if it's mostly...
  12. Which otome game guys would you not choose in real life?

Like a lot of people have already mentioned, Yang from Piofiore for me too... I still can't forget his bad ending. If I ever met him in real life, I'd probably... not survive very long.
  13. What do you think about mini-games in otome?

I've played Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 6 DX, and it has a pretty substantial battle system rather than what I'd consider a minigame. Combat actually makes up a big part of the gameplay. When I first played it, I had a lot of fun with the battles. But after replaying the game multiple times to go...
  14. Which one do you like the most: Otome or BL

I like otome games more! I've actually never played a BL game before. I'm a huge self-insert player, and I can only really immerse myself through a female MC. Even in regular RPGs, I tend to have a hard time getting into them if the protagonist is male. That's why otome games are much more my thing.
  15. Favorite Otome/BL Songs?

I think the OPs of Chou no Doku and Norn9 are top-tier. The songs are amazing, and they perfectly capture the vibe of the games.
  16. Thoughts on shota/youger li?

I'm not really sure about shota LIs, haha, but I absolutely love younger LIs!! I always find it so fun when the MC initially sees them more as a younger brother, and they keep trying to get her to see them as a man instead. I also love it when they get jealous of the older men around the MC...
  17. Can you imagine yourself in the place of the main character?

Same here!! I always put myself in the MC's shoes when I play. I get totally immersed in the story, and personally, I think that makes everything the LI does feel even more exciting.
  18. What do you feel about the villainess reincarnation portrayal in anime and manga?

As you said, otome games that actually feature the kind of stereotypical villainess we see in recent anime are pretty rare. I've often wondered why that setup became so popular. The villainess characters in those anime usually aren't very nuanced; they're often portrayed as simply mean and...
  19. What's your understanding of a strong female lead in otome games?

I don't think physical strength really matters. I played Jyuzaengi, and while the MC was incredibly skilled in combat, she never really felt like a particularly strong female lead to me. For me, a strong MC is someone who doesn't get easily swept up by the LIs and can stick to her own judgment...
  20. Do you wish there were more eroge otome?

I definitely wish there were more R18 otome games! I completely get where you're coming from. There are so many games aimed at men with adult content, but when it comes to women, our options are pretty limited. Sometimes I can't help but think, "Women have those interests too!" Back in the...
