There's a switch in the VNR configuration to enable furigana/romaji display, but I prefer TA myself and I have no issues with the automatic copy to clipboard functionality. I'm not familiar enough with the application to help you troubleshoot, but perhaps there is a VNR help resource out there...

Don't apply the included patch, as it causes the game to error out at launch. The version of the game in this torrent is the download edition, which has been pre-patched. The included patch is only for the regular edition. If you've already applied the patch, just remove the cgsys2.ypf file...
