it just looks like translators tried way too hard to make it sound memey.. i dont know how it was in the original, but i totally understand why people would be turned off by the localization lol

They really did! Good for them, I guess, but man... There's a difference between saying "You're crushing me" or "You're heavy" and straight-up calling the mc fatass They had a lot of choices but chose the last one. It probably fits the character?.. But then they went on and on... so yeah...
