I don't mind how tragic or heartbreaking the story gets, as long as it ends with a happy ending. After everything the characters have been through, they deserve some happiness.
I've always known that I like playing the bad endings first in all my games it just feels sooo satisfying!
Also, I just started playing Sins of Kaleido and accidentally played one of the normal endings before the bad ones... honestly, I never thought doing so could ruin the experience for me lmao
Even though bad endings leave a lingering impression, I prefer happy endings because they feel clean and leave you in a good mood. Thinking back on stories with bad endings just makes me feel down and gloomy. I want the characters to keep living happily ever after, even beyond where I can see them.
I usually go for good endings first. I love warm, satisfying payoffs after going through all the hardships with the character. That said, I do think well-written bad endings are fascinating too. They carry heavy, unique emotions and add depth to the story, though I won't replay them as often.
