i prefer to listen before going to sleep, while reading manga or fanfics. although, there were times i had to listen while doing paperwork/assignments on a time crunch 😭😭 weirdly enough, it helped me focus entirely on my tasks

It's amazing that you can actually focus on your assignments while listening to otome audio. I tried it and failed 😅

I usually close my eyes and listen to Otome CDs in bed before sleeping. On weekends, when I listen during the day, I close the blackout curtains and darken the room as much as possible, haha. I can understand Japanese to some extent, so I usually listen with my eyes closed without subtitles! helps you focus on your voice and makes it much easier to imagine it😄

That is really true otome audio dedication! 😂
Honestly, blackout curtains + high-end headphones + bedtime audio is top-tier self-care.

I tried to listen when I was doing work and it was too stimulating HAHAHA

So I stick to listening right before I fall asleep, completely in the dark. It helps with the imagining as well!

I wonder, in that case, do you remember the content of the audio?

I listen to them while reading novels or playing games before bed haha! 😅

I actually do! My brain is usually way more focused on the CD than on whatever I'm reading or playing 😄

Most of them (pretty much everything I've ever listened to) I listen to before bed, so I guess I'm Team Immersion
Though I rarely finish them. Always end up starting the episode over from the beginning the next night anyway 😭
Almost never listen while doing other stuff because Drama CDs actually require some concentration. I tried it once and understood absolutely nothing. I could only tell like, "Oh, the spicy scene is here"

Yes, that is exactly the problem of team *unable to multitask* 😅 We cannot force our brains to split in two to do two things, that need us to focus, at the same time.

When you're swamped with work so you pull out your R18 drama CD, reach a flow state, and suddenly you're 1000% more productive and all your stress has been blOwn away!

Really? I tried listening while working too, but once it got to the R-18 parts, I couldn't focus on my work anymore 😂

I do both, actually.
Sometimes I listen while doing something else, and other times I listen while lying in bed before going to sleep.
When I listen while doing other things, it's usually something I've heard before or something I started listening to but wasn't quite sure about.
When I listen before bed, I usually end up falling asleep halfway through, so I always listen to it for several days in a row before going to sleep.

I also like to listen to it before going to bed with eyes closed for full immersion. If I listen to it while doing something else, I often lose track of what is going on and I can't really follow the story.
I'd like to finish it all in one night so I get the full story and experience, but I always fall asleep so I'll have to repeat the same cd many times until I finish.

I always turn off the lights and close my eyes before I listen. It's even more thrilling because it makes me imagine things when I close my eyes 😺 Stimulating my imagination helps me immerse myself more, and it floods me with dopamine

Typically, I listen to them before I go to bed as I find it calming as long as the VAs is not shouting at me too. I've tried to listen while playing games, but then I start messing up in them, so I stopped fast and now I know I can't multitask with them either.

I'm pretty picky about what I like, so I usually give a CD a first listen while multitasking. If I end up liking it, I'll listen to it again when I'm going to sleep.
I find listening while playing puzzle games on my phone works best for me😆

I'm a lot like you in that regard—I'm pretty picky when it comes to otome drama audio. So, whenever I find one that really suits my taste, I like to listen to it while lying in bed with my eyes closed, just to fully immerse myself in the story 🤭

Definitely Team Immersion! 🙋‍♀️💕 I love lying in bed, closing my eyes, and getting completely lost in the voices. It's just a different experience when you can focus on every little detail without any distractions! The funny thing is that I sometimes end up falling asleep while listening, so I get to enjoy their voices in my dreams too hehe ♡

I only listen to drama CDs of any genre during the daytime. I want to listen to them while relaxing on my days off.
