Do you guys actually understand Japanese or still rely on translations when it comes to otome CDs?

i'm studying japanese so playing unlocalized vns / untranslated cds, i go based off either memory or a translator ^^ ive been doing this for a while now and since im studying it makes it much easier to understand and piece the words together on screeen while listening i just try to make out the tone and expressions

I'll prioritize ones that have translations. I can understand about half of what I hear, but if the words are complicated or it's spoken too fast, I won't be able to follow it. So I'll still need translations, and that's where having the original text comes in handy.

I've studied Japanese, so can understand most of it (partly by picking up on keywords).
Aside from otome CDs, I also play otome games and engage with other ACG to learning.
I only look up translations when I truly don't understand something.

Unfortunately, I don't understand Japanese, apart from a few words and phrases! (;ω;) I still rely on translations when it comes to otome CDs, but I really wish I could understand everything without them. Especially when there's a voice actor I love, I want to understand every little thing he says! ♡ Maybe one day I'll finally learn Japanese properly hehe (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

After a bunch of animes and drama cds i got to the point of understanding like 80% maybe?
but the cds that come with translations or scripts definitely helps
It's really great that most otome cds comes with scripts so you just need to run the texts and get translations right away in case you don't get some parts
