2. Rename the game folder to "CAT Girl Sweet Days - RJ01422252 - v2.01".
3. Extract this ZIP into that folder (the folder with the game's exe).
4. Allow Windows to replace files, then run the game.
UNINSTALL
Restore overwritten files from your clean backup. Added files to delete: - patch.xp3
Most patches are only partially tested. Bugs may remain. Please back up your saves before installing.
What was tested on this build: the game boots through the translator screen to the English title and into the English prologue; the gallery captions show in English; an automated sweep ran all 1,206 scenario labels in fast-forward and found no error that the original game does not also produce.
Not tested: a full playthrough, every choice and route, Android/JoiPlay.
INSTALL
Put patch.xp3 in the game folder, next to data.xp3 and the .eXe. Nothing else is replaced;
delete patch.xp3 to go back to Japanese.
ENGLISH WINDOWS: RENAME THE EXE
On a non-Japanese Windows the game will not start under its Japanese file name
(野良猫少女との生活.eXe) -- it shows an error box with the path in question marks.
Make a copy of that file named CatGirlSweetDays.exe (or any plain-letter name) and start that one. The patch also re-saves every script in a format English Windows can read, which the original game needs anyway.
THE "ALL SCENES UNLOCK" DLC
Works with this patch. Install it the way its own readme says (use the 2.00savedata copy), with the game closed. Its gallery captions show in English, because the game rebuilds them from the patched scripts every time it starts.
ALSO IN THIS PATCH
- Gallery hover captions, save-slot labels, the speed-menu entries and the quit/ return-to-title prompts are in English -- they hide inside the game's code, where a first pass missed them.
- A short translator screen before the title (click to skip), and the credit on the title.
KNOWN GAPS, SAID PLAINLY
- About 50 interface images still show Japanese. The image tools of the time could not
place the English on them cleanly, so they were left alone rather than smeared.
- Story CG artwork is untouched on purpose.
- The 13-track voice drama in the bonus folder is audio only and is not translated.
