What do you think about these ai chat bots?Could they replace otome games?

I don't think AI could replace visual novels. Visual novels have more plot, consistency, and high quality art. AI needs alot of memory to remember past interactions and isn't really consistent.

I've played conversational AI games similar to AI chatbots. It was fascinating how they would instantly respond to my messages and set the mood right away—to the point where I couldn't even tell it was an AI.
However, in my personal opinion, it was a bit disappointing that the conversation would often miss the mark when it came to nuanced depictions, such as romantic interactions 😅

Honestly, no way they could replace otome games. AI chatbots are fun for quick, self-indulgent roleplays or sandbox scenarios, but they get repetitive, fall out of character constantly, and have the memory of a goldfish lmao. Otome games hit differently because of the carefully crafted narrative arcs, intentional foreshadowing, stunning CG art, and especially the professional voice acting pouring raw emotion into every line. AI might be a fun little side distraction, but it completely lacks the soul and deliberate storytelling of a real visual novel.

I recently watched Kensho Ono and Tasuku Hatanaka mess around with AI chatbots on Seiyuu to Yoasobi, and that's how I found out they've gotten this advanced. It was super fun and so meme-y! Definitely wanna try it out sometime.

I don't think so tbh. AI bots can be fun when you're bored and wanna make up some random scenario, but it feels pretty different from playing an otome game. I like having an actual plot and knowing that the characters have their own story instead of just reacting to whatever I say

If you don't mind setting everything up for the AI and telling it exactly what to say, your experience with it will be great. But if you want true surprises and unpredictable twists in crazy plots, human-written scripts still win out.

I tried c.ai once and didn't like it. Also I don't self insert so otomes for me is a romance story between mc and LI

I don't think AI can replace anything at the moment. I've seen plenty of ads for chatbots that let you "talk" to your favorite fictional characters, but they haven't appealed to me, and I don't plan on using them. Judging by previous comments, they seem entertaining at first but struggle to maintain continuity in long conversations; personally—and I don't know if others feel the same way—I'm a bit fed up with seeing AI-generated content everywhere, so I avoid it whenever I can.

Those AI things just lack flavor and a whole lot of plot. It can't compare to otomes at all, who actually have love and dedication put into them.

I feel like no, sometimes they serve as a good complement if you are out of content from your favorite game and it will depend on your ability to roll, but a otome game is a much more immersive experience, is not a comparable feeling of a good otome game can cause

I feel like it's a good co.pelment if you've already run out of content from your favorite game, but you can't buy a good otome game with a chat bot that depends on your ability to roll.

ai chat bots aren't really like otome games at all... they don't have long memory, character portraits, backgrounds...etc. it's just a bunch of text! (⁠・⁠_⁠・⁠;⁠)

AI chatbots depends on your input respond tho. As someone who wants to enjoy a masterclass storytelling i will never satisfied with what those AI come up to. Sure they scrap from so many sources but that makes them unpredictable and incoherent most of the time so i don't belive i will search for an AI for my dose of good stories

I'm one of its users, but I prefer creating my own characters in AI chatbots and even more so creating scenarios. However, this won't replace otome games, as otome games have a wide variety of stories and variations, and interactions with the love interests also vary depending on the story. Unlike AI chatbots, they're repetitive and lack the variety of expressions that follow.

I've never chatted with bots, and I don't think I'll ever give it a try. It feels sketchy to me. It's one thing to enjoy a story with a main character (I've never been into self-insertion), but it's something else entirely to form a relationship with an algorithm... it's weird, though I respect the people who find it fun.

AI will never have the same writing as something made by a real person, and bots don't have good memory so they'll 100% be inconsistent with the story. Otomes on the other hand, the entire story is written out already so memory wouldn't be a problem for the LIs.

I've tried chatting with AI before, setting up a ton of backstory, personality, character stuff, etc. It's pretty fun at first, but after a while it tends to go OOC.

For these day AI chatbots, I'm against them and will never try them. Cause most of the data was stolen to train AI, and for AI chatbots in particular, it was writing and drawing that belonged to people who never had the opportunity to say yes/no about permission to use. As a person who does both, I really can't accept the existence of this waste

AND HELL NO this absolutely can't replace Otome games which are human-made
Art has value cause create by humans. Trust me even if you guys have never written before, you can write fiction with a self-insert or whatever could be better
AI chatbot will work if it is a simulation of a brain map that is 1-on-1 like a human's, and can have 'life experience' by itself, not just stolen data, which is kinda far from current technology
Beside many would say AI chatbots don't require much effort. yep but I wanna remind you that things always come with a cost. AI use too much cost, too many resources for the low quality and fleeting entertainment you will receive. Even use for education is still questionable about worthiness for me🤔

No. They're fun, at some point. But the more often you play it, you can still realize that they're AI. Eventually you will get bored with it. So for me they couldn't replace otome games. At least for now

I don't think AI chatbots could replace otome games, at least not for now. AI chatbots feel more like improvisation, where the conversation develops based on how you respond in the moment, rather than following a carefully crafted story.

They might become more story-driven in the future, but for now, I think they offer a different kind of experience from otome games. Also, a lot of AI chatbots are based on existing anime or game characters, which raises copyright issues, so I feel like some of them may eventually be phased out.
