There are so many beast-eared, transformable, and beast-human characters in otome games and CD dramas, right?!
Even among "beast-human fans," I think everyone has their own preferred level of beast-human characteristics!
What's your favorite level of beast-human characteristics (1-5)?

【Kemono Level Guidelines】

Kemono Level 1: Human Base + Animal Ears & Tail
(e.g., Looks completely human, but with cat/dog ears or a tail. Includes removable accessories.)

Kemono Level 2: Human Base + Partial Fur, Claws, Horns, or Paws
(e.g., Hands and feet are animal paws/claws, or has fur and patterns on parts of the body other than the face.)

Kemono Level 3: Animal-like Face/Build + Bipedal & Clothed (Half-Human, Half-Beast)
(e.g., Has a distinct animal muzzle and face, but a toned, human-like body structure.)

Kemono Level 4: Mostly Animal Appearance (Bipedal/Quadrupedal) + Human Speech & Reason
(e.g., Far from a human shape, but can speak, wears clothes, and possesses human emotions.)

Kemono Level 5: Full Animal / True Beast
(e.g., Looks and behaves completely like a realistic animal or mythical beast. May speak directly to your mind via telepathy, etc.)

I think I can only handle level one — like, human appearance but with animal ears and a tail. Anything beyond that is just a bit too much for me.

I can take all of them, but my favorites are probably Level 1 and 3.

It's funny when Level 1 has both animal and human ears lol I love it. Though sometimes in drama cds when they're trying to mimic an animal howl or growl, it gives me chills! Especially when they only do it in one of my ears!

Hmm I guess I can handle all of them 🤔 I consume furry contents so I'm not picky hahah

For me level 1, not a big fan of realistic animal presentations in human form.
However, I like when some non-visual characteristics are implemented like heat cycles, prey-predator dinamycs, etc.

My favorite is Level 3. I like Level 4, too.
Level 5 might be a bit of a stretch.
It would be awesome if I could transform at will, but that's probably asking for too much, right? 🤣

Level 1 is my favorite! I absolutely love animal ears and tails, and I really like it when characters still have a human-based appearance but have some animal traits mixed in. I also really like characters who have animal-like mannerisms and behaviors, not just the way they look.

I enjoyed games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Solatorobo + enjoyed movies like Lion King so I don't mind any levels when it comes to general media

Now, them as romancable characters on the other hand, eh... I don't mind non-human(oid) romanceables, but I'm probably generally up to level 2 lol. For me to like level 3 and 4, every character's gotta be like that lol. Level 5, depends on the circumstance like in them fairy tales and mythology.

I'm fine with all levels, but favorite one would be level 1.

I think 2 is about as far as I go. xD

I think I could go up comfortably up to level 3. More than that would depend on the reason of why they are how they are and if they still feel "human" I guess, I don't know what other word to use.

Level 1 for me, but strictly just one pair of ears—either human or animal, not both.

level 1 to level 2 is a good safe point for me, since there are still uniquely animal characteristics present (like claws and fangs which are pretty cute) but you wont have any huge or not understandable gap in lifestyle or habits ^^ beyond that it gets uncomfortable because i would still prefer for them to be more human than not ><

I think I'm fine with all but prefer 1.

I think the characters I can see as romantic interests are limited to Level 2.
As for Level 3 and above, even if they're compelling as story characters, I find it hard to empathize with them as romantic partners.

This was fun to think about. 😆

I am the most comfortable and definitely prefer level 1. I love my cat and fox boys.

I prefer Level 3 than level 2. Not a fan of animal paws and prefer an animal head + human like body. I'm thinking something like Nagabe's artworks (see picture).

I can take level 5 too. Somehow its ok because there are totally nonhuman and thats .

Honestly though, my preferences are all appearance based. If the story and characterization is good, I would give anything a go. I mean why not?

I dabble in furry content from time to time, so I don't mind anything up to level 4 when it comes to romanceable characters.

Level 5 is very situational but not something I'd place in the realm of romanceable, I tend to handle them only in some story framing like "mythical beast happens to have a human form they can shift into", so the lovey-dovey scenes are with a more human-like/anthro form of the character.
