My first otome game was actually Amnesia: Memories, and it ruined me in the best way possible
. I didn't go in expecting much, just curious about the whole "lost your memories" mystery concept, but the moment I met Ikki, I knew this wasn't gonna be a normal soft romance kind of game. He was moody, intense, and kinda intimidating from the start — and I was SO here for it
.
The thing that made me go "okay I need more of this" was honestly his possessive energy
. Like the way he loved wasn't soft or gentle, it was consuming — this rough exterior hiding a genuine fear of losing you underneath. I remember finishing his route and immediately wanting to see how the other characters "loved" differently, because even the ones who seemed sweeter had their own version of obsession simmering underneath.
After that, I basically became someone who actively seeks out that possessive/obsessive dynamic in otome games
— Ikki kind of set the bar, honestly.

I will forever mourn the EOS...
