Do VAs influence you to start an Otome?

Not really, but when I see my favorite VA, it catches my attention. For me, the visual component plays a bigger role than everything else)

Voice credits don't really influence me starting or getting into anything the way a personal favorite scenario writer or director might, but if a favorite is part of the cast in a game I'm playing, that will boost my opinion of the character they're portraying! A little extra spice, for my ears.

For me, I actually try my best to separate voice actors from the characters they voice. I tend to immerse myself fully in the story and the character's personality while playing otome games. If I keep thinking about which VA is voicing the role nonstop, it just pulls me right out of the immersion and ruins the vibe.
Normally I pick games based on the plot tropes and character types I enjoy first. That said, spotting a familiar VA in the cast does instantly boost my interest a little bit.:lapi_idea:

Speaking of that, there's an upcoming otome game called Kimi ni Madoi, Kimi ni Oboreru I'm really looking forward to. One of the voice actors cast in it has my full anticipation for his otome performance. I listen to his drama CDs quite often, and he's only had minor side roles in several games before, so I'm curious to hear him take on a proper otome lead this time.:blushhappy:

Honestely? No. I am not really interestet in VAs and dont even recognise their names or even voices most of the time, so it dosent influence me 😅. I think i have only recognized a VA two times in my live or so... But! I really like it if a LIs Voice sounds like it would belong to him and his Voice is attractive for me, so that might influence me more than just seeing the name of a VA

Personally, no. So far, I haven't come across any bad voice actors. I like them all :) so it doesn't influence me at all.
.
Personalmente no, hasta ahora no me e encontrado con ningún actor de voz malo, me gustan todos :) asi que para mi no influye nada de nada

First of all, I'd say no, since I don't look up the voice actors beforehand (I want to get the most out of discovering the game).
But the surprise of hearing one of my favorite voice actors is indescribable.

Yeaaa they're so important even if the character or the art style aren't really my type, I would still try playing them just for the VAs

I prefer to follow the artist over the voice actor, so art always comes first for me! Since I used to play voiceless otome games, having voiced characters isn't a requirement. Art and story are the only elements I consider when choosing a game.

Because of this, I usually follow either the artist or the writer (though it is very rare for me to remember writers' names).

Whenever I see the names of voice actors I like, I find myself getting curious and looking up the game, even if it's one I've never played before. In fact, it was seeing the names of my favorite voice actors that first got me interested in otome games.

The cast is always a bonus point, but I'll play anything if it picks my interest. So while I get reaaaally excited seeing some names in the cast, it doesn't mean I'm not playing a game if there's voice actors I don't care or don't know about.

Sometimes, but not enough to buy a game on their name alone. A favorite VA might get my attention, but the premise and characters are what actually sell me on an otome

I'll play anything if it's got one of my favourites in it, but if something else intrigues me without anyone I recognize in it, I'll still play it ^^ Sometimes I'll discover another favourite when I dont know any of the voice actors yet <( ̄︶ ̄)>

I personally think that fav VA being in the game is like a cherry on the top, like yeah it makes cake better, but you can eat the cake without it still. Plot matters more imo

Yes!!! It is sooo important that I sometimes only search through VA that I want to hear. In CD corner, my favorite VA is 主水ash right now haha

I'm actually more likely to be drawn to a game because of its reviews than because of its voice actors. If a game is genuinely good, I'm willing to give it a chance regardless of who's voicing the characters. They might even end up becoming a potential favorite voice actor of mine.

That said, if there's a VA I really love, I'll want to play every game they're in. For example, I really like Katsuyuki Konishi, so I want to play pretty much every game he's voiced in.

But if it's a game like Edel Blume, I don't want to waste my time playing it just because he's in it. 😂

I wouldnt say who the VAs are has any influence over my decision to pick up a game, but its for sure a bonus if I see someone in the cast I know I love.

Seeing my fave VAs in the credits is definitely a plus, but not really a huge motivator for me to start a game.
For me it comes down more to gameplay, good visuals, character designs & tropes. I've picked up games just because of a specific character but never for a specific seiyuu.

Nope for me, personally I go based on what i hear from (non-spoiler ) reviews. If I see a generally good reception then i usually go for it. Then I'll end up being like " Hey, I've heard this voice actor before" and find out who it is afterwards. I also usually just separate the va from the character bcs at the end of the day they got paid already anyways so might aswell enjoy the character without thinking too hard about who voices it.

I also like seeing new or lesser known voice actors bcs it means more talent in the va industry. After all, some of the more populars vas are older now so im not exactly counting on them to voice every modern otome stuff bcs ik theyre prob busy with other job opportunities/personal life things.
