Which one do you prefer? Only playing bl games or only playing otome games for the rest of your life?

Would you prefer only playing bl games or only playing otome games for the rest of your life?

I mostly play eroge (bishoujo games) so xD The otomes I played are all ages and I enjoyed them, can't say the same about the BL part, I like visual novel in general, but if you put me on the line, I can't live without eroge... wow, I can't believe I put eroge over BL. Sometimes a poll it's all you need to see your true self...

Tough one... if we're talking about every visual novel available now, and I had to limit myself to one type? I'd probably... have to go with galge? There's just far more variety, so, the ceiling for my preferred form storytelling (plot heavy/charage) feels higher?

I get a little giddier reading yuri personally, but there's barely any visual novels that fit the criteria (Flowers series, Ever Maiden, the Nurse Love games if you want to get soap-opera-y with it, Yurirei, then of course the goat aka Seabed, being the only ones I can think of currently) with BL there's deeeefinitely more variety, doubly so with otome, but, yeah... I just love the element of choice... I feel sad just thinking about it though haha.

This is a really tough choice.
I love both BL games and otome games, but I'll choose otome games.

I'd pick otome games because there are a lot more to choose from. Also, I am not that interested in sexual content.

Of course, otome games.
I've tried BL games a few times because the graphics are good, but they just weren't for me.

I originally voted bl because I prefer it but for the rest of my life I'd say otome, because there are a lot more and they tend to be more sfw overall. Also I need more fluffiness in my life.. Recently I've found nsfw scenes more and more of an annoyance and playing censored versions doesn't feel like the full experience to me.

Thank you so much for this interesting topic (˶>⩊<˶).

I like and enjoy playing all types of VNs ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡.

However, if I had to choose to play either BL or Otome forever. I would absolutely without any doubt or question choose Otome ☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆.

Best of luck, and happy wishes to the players of both types (๑>◡<๑).

I'll have to choose BL games since that's what got me into Otome as well ^^ maybe the more Otome games I play might change my mind ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

Bl probably, but that's because I have a very particular taste in men (sleazy emotionally constipated jerks lmao) and these types of men are much more common in BL. I also prefer to have a full fledged established protagonist who has character art and is voiced. Those are, sadly, not common in otome.

In truth, I seldom play BL games myself, yet I do purchase them. However, they tend to fall more into the 'light BL' category rather than being strictly BL games per se.
I mainly play otome games, so if I really had to pick, I'd choose otome games without a doubt

I keep going back and forth on this one.
On one hand, I noticed that over the years, I ended up appreciating otome content more and more; on the other, BL content has tendentially darker and more adult themes than most otome games.

I don't self-insert so I don't mind playing as someone different than me, but one thing that I can't ignore in BL is that the scenario is clearly written with a female audience in mind and characters behave accordingly. Media that targets homosexual men is very different than your average BL game (or LN, manga, etc), and I'm not into that.

Otome is usually softer in terms of themes and story, but there are some indie creators that try to bring some heavier tales... although they tend to remain very much niche. But when I find something that I really like in the Otome category, it leaves a vivid and lasting impression on me, even more than your average BL game.

So... IDK lol

It's hard to choose, but if I had to pick just one, I'd probably choose otome games. I don't really play BL games that often anyway.
