If you’ve already played a game that hasn’t been localised, would you play it again once it has been localised?

Nowadays, AI translation tools are getting so good that playing unlocalized games is barely an issue anymore. I can understand the story perfectly fine. So, if I have already fully completed a game, I definitely won't replay the official localization.
However, if I only played a small part of it—like finishing just one character route—then I would switch to the official localization to play the rest and complete the game.

I will. Because the localized gaming experience will be better. But I'll choose to play after some time has passed.

actually i prefer playing unlocalized games with translation tool and relying on my own knowledge of the language rather than localized ones. sometimes official localization is just awful and they change text however they like completely reversing the original meaning. of course there's also plenty of good translations but... my experience with official localizations has been pretty harsh... so yeah i think re-reading is unnecessary but if translation is really good i can give it a try!

There are times ai cannot articulate or translate what the author is trying to convey which makes me even more confused instead of amazed if I don't get the message. Imo if there's a vn that is highly poetic with alot of complicated words I would try to read the localized version to understand their take on it.

im thinking of bloody call i remember playing it with google translate then there was a blog with the translation of the dialogues it was a hassle but i was so into it at the time i didn't mind , i would love to play it now if it gets localised that would be sooooo niceeeee

If it's a game I've already played... probably not, haha. Otome games take so much time to get through. I'm always happy when they get officially localized, but I just don't have the time to replay them.

I usually don't play the game again after localizing it. If I have already experienced the original version of a game, I rarely purchase the localized version. The main reason is that the localized games of most games are of poor quality and the agency attitude is not good either. This makes me feel rather bad and I don't really want to purchase and play them.

hmmm I don't think so, I prefer the original one so it doesn't get lost in translation, unless they added new stuff in it, I might replay them.. ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

Probably not. I tend to dislike localization a lot these days.
Sometimes it tries hard to fit modern culture but the og uses a more neutral language and I don't like that
:(((((((

I'd definitely reread my favorite routes and would replay the whole game if it's one of my favorites. Heavily depends on the quality of the localisation, though. I'm not someone who could judge that, but if I see others criticising the quality, even for already localised games I haven't picked up yet, I'd sometimes rather play the original version.

Probably not. 😅

I rarely replay games after finishing them, so it would have to be a game I absolutely loved or one that became one of my favourite otome for me to play it again.
