Okay. So I finally played all the routes from the Virche (besides the fd ones). And I'm disappointed AS HELLLL 😭😭😭The
Adolphe's route killed all the vibes for me mostly because of my dear Ankou's plot. It's my vacation so I wanted to play as much as possible games during this time, but... I'm in a such sour mood that I don't want to play anything at all lol.

Which routes or plots made you take a break because of strong emotions -- whether positive or negative?

p.s. to play fandisc or not...that is the question..............

Probably Nightshade, partly because the routes are depressing but also Enju's passiveness was also pissing me off 😭 like girl your friends are dying DO SOMETHING 💔💔 I totally get your feeling of playing an otome and it just souring your mood for the rest of the week, like I dont wanna touch no game im just angry and irritated and need time to calm down UGH

the recent one probably Yang from Piofiore Fated Memories and Yori from Illusion of Itehari. I mean, I love trash male lead but I need to take a break sometimes after playing their route, especially Yori. Every time he appears... I get high blood pressure lol.

My friend recommend me to play Virche... but now I'm scared as hell lol

TRUEEEEE omg 😭when I played Nightshade I had a feeling that the writers just wanted drama for the sake of drama lol. Also I facepalmed plenty of times because Enju was okay with stupid behavior like in Chojiro's route and I was like girl STAND UP...........

Seconding Piofiore except it was Nicola's BE... I didn't even realize I was playing the bad end since I wasn't used to console otome and the concept of long bad ends was foreign to me. When he started murdering everyone around after Dante's death I was genuinely panicking thinking I had completely misunderstood his character. His route is basically slice-of-life up until that point and I was asking myself how can a good ending happen out of this. It's kind of funny too because he spends the entire route saying he wants Dante dead and then goes berserk when the man he said he wants to kill actually dies lol

Also I imagine a lot of people had to take a break from Orlok's bad ending. I was fortunate in that I was warned about it

Another classic is Even if Tempest's cannibalism reveal

I had the same feeling when I first played the two R18 games, <<Torikago no Marriage>>and <<Queen Bee's Royal Chamber>>:

The gameplay experience wasn't great. I stopped playing several times and spent a lot of time slowly completing them.

While the art style and music were beautiful, the characters and the script were unacceptable. The female protagonists were either treated like dolls or substitutes, or they were wantonly manipulated and abused by the male characters. They didn't resist much and just went with the flow; it's hard to call that true love.

Conrad and Evelina's combo bonus story from Even if Tempest FD 😭 It took about a month to complete the main story after that.
Yori's route from Itehari. He stressed me off so much I had to stop and read a different novel to forget about him.

And the last but not the least - prologue from Virche. I was expecting an otome game, not "The Saw" sequel 😅

Wait a sec, Nicola never said that! Not once!
Dante is the only person Nicola would never kill!
Nicola can kill MC but not Dante. Never.
Which is exactly why Nicola goes berserk in his Bad Ending.

I was KO'd by Ankou's route in Virche's FD...
Well... I guess I'm just glad I like Ankou more than Lucas...

Virche, certainly. I'm still mad about what the game put the boys through. It's just suffering after suffering. I don't feel fully convinced by it, and it did kill my mood at times. The mysteries were good, though. I still haven't finished the FD.

Virche and Club Suicide had me on an otome pause because I'm the type of person who's not into suffering it seems. I love both games of course, but i had to reset my mental state to function.

Also the grand ending of Cafe Enchante. What the hell was that. I almost threw my switch outside the window with that meta ending. Had me contemplating of reading reviews first before buying.

bruh, so far everything I've played were all tragic. EVEN A STEAM PUNK 'Code:Realize' BAITED ME WITH CUTESY VIBES. It's just a pattern I heavily observed so far, every single meta otomes out there are tragic asf.

PS; everything I've played tragically: Hakuoki Series (yeah..first on the list), Code: Realize, Cafe Enchante (this one istg. the master of soft-baiting)

I totally get that post-game burnout. For me, it was Shinonome's route in kannagi no mori.

That ending hurt me so badly that I literally had to step away from otome games for weeks. The emotional damage was just so heavy and depressing that I felt completely drained. I couldn't bring myself to touch another visual novel for a long time after that.

For me, it was Toma from Amnesia. I still remember his name clearly, even though it's been four years since I played the game. His route was really exhausting for me because I couldn't escape the bad ending loop, and I eventually had to look up a guide online to figure out how to get out of it :akazukin_dead:...

I remember playing Zafora's route in the second game... I was dissapointed, truly dissapointed. He was my favourite LI, so I just couldn't play any otome games after that (〒﹏〒)
