Is there any mechanics or anything in general that you would like to in more games?

I would like to see more options of interacting with LI like mini games.
For example, you finished the LI's route and then he would appear in the bonus section of the game where you could interact with him by using different objects or reminiscing about the shared memories.
Something like in Norn9 when you hear the thoughts of the LI when you click CG.
Also experimenting with the UI would be cool. I really liked how it was done in the Otome Daoshi.

Is the Palais de Reine this type?
Will check this one out, thank you! Seems it's in the same ballpark but much more diplomacy oriented rather than warring states and supply micromanaging which, well, lends itself much better to the dating aspects. Really intrigued by the knight system it has going.

It has become a staple now but i really like voice lines playing in the title menu after a bad or good end ! I'm curious what was the first otomate game that implemented it ???

A flowchart — that way I can see where I am in a route and check for any unread parts I might've missed.

Also, character profiles and info — I saw that feature in Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo.

One more thing — even in auto mode, I should still be able to click through without interrupting the flow. It's nice when you can tap ahead without breaking the auto-play.

Save files that can be deleted or locked, plus auto-save.

I want an in-game guide to get all the endings after finishing a route, I hate having to look for guides :cautious:

Oh, and a flowchart for a really decision heavy game would be cool

A otome game with some of the gameplay of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments and the other games in the series would be so cool! You would be a detective or spy and solve mysteries with your deduction skills, all while romancing guys who may or may not be a suspect or even the perpetrator of your case!
I would also like to see more games like Stand By Me. I liked the demo so much and am really exitet for it to release.
Oh I would absolutely love something like that. The closest that comes to mind right now is this upcoming game called Grave Seasons. It's a farming sim but with the added element of villagers getting murdered and needing to figure out who is doing it with each run randomizing who the killer is from the romanceables. It's not an otome and I still don't know how in depth the romance/relationship aspect will be but i thought it sounded cool. It's releasing soon-ish and i'm looking forward to it.

As for what features I'd like to see it would be fun to have a potion making/cooking element that impacts the gameplay. I don't think i've seen it but seems like something I wanna see personally.

RPG with heavy otome elements would be nice. P3P was mentioned before, smth like that but with little less grind and more dialog\interaction would be perfect. With meaningful choices that can lead to new events\stories, not fully linear.

It's not a specific mechanic, but rather an 'otome' version of visual novels—like Your Memories Off ~Girl's Style~. I love that series; the Memories Off games in general are fantastic, though unfortunately, they don't come out very often anymore.
Like many others here, I would also love an RPG featuring a female protagonist, in the style of P3P. Such a distant dream.

Auto-save system! Important choices always seem to come when I forget to save 🥲
An otome game with rpg elements is also welcome. There are many big games with a possible mc gender choice, but very few female-oriented ones.

auto save at every choice would be so useful...!!

I've been waiting for that to release since they announced it!
There is also a romance VN called Drops of Death that had a similar mechanic - with the killer changing from the pool of four LIs on every run.

I would love this! The closest I can think that we have right now is Boyfriend Dungeon and a game I found on steam called Nova Hearts, though personally I didn't particularly enjoy the latter as the combat and romance system felt kinda meh to me. A shame, because both the art style and premise were really nice (magical girl rpg could've been awesome).

Boyfriend Dungeon was... an experience 😅 I'm waiting for "The Silent Kingdom" (demo was great) and "Ten Trials of Babel 2" (the first game is stellar), they look more in course with traditional stories, so to say 😄

I'd love to have the jump to next choice and jump to previous choice options in every otome game. They're such a huge time-saver when you're replaying routes.

I was a bit bummed out that it ended up delayed a bit but at the same time idm. I just checked out the page for Drops of Death and it looks interesting! Just added it to my wishlist ^_^

I'd also love to see more MC appearance customization. Even something simple like choosing hair length or whether the MC wears glasses would make the experience feel more personal. Though I imagine that's probably difficult to implement since it would have to be reflected in the CGs too. 😭
Yeah, me too - I love it when games have character customization. And while I get it's quite a lot of work for the devs, if indie projects can manage it (I was thinking of steamberry studio, which I think is run by one single dev?), I think it wouldn't be too much of a hassle for bigger companies to do something similar
On the topic of MC customization, I also really like when you have personality systems or simply flavor choices that have no effect on the endings/ romance but let you define some aspects of your MC, again similar to what Steamberry Studio did in Gilded Shadows or Crescence Studio in Alaris. I also really like set MCs, don't get me wrong, but it's also fun for me to create an OC and play as them, kinda like for RPGs.

It's a small feature, but with a lot non-otome VNs I've been playing recently, there's the "replay current voiced line" key/button that I really like. In my experience a lot of console otome require you to bring up the backlog window, then go to the line and replay the voice from there.
When a really dramatic, romantic, funny or otherwise great line comes up I have a habit of wanting to listen to the line 2-3 times before I move on lol. So making that as seamless as possible would be great.

Same, I love that feature too. Especially if you can actually save the voice lines
