IF as an author, what kind of heroine would you like your female protagonist to be?

As for me, I have quite a few character archetypes I'd love to build, though it's a bit cringe haha =)) And I usually lean toward personalities that are a bit crazy and extreme lol.

First, a gorgeous MC who knows she's hot, a total flirt master, etc =)) I love the idea of her teasing all kinds of LIs she encounters. Someone who views relationships as a psychological game, with zero hesitation to manipulate and exploit her prey =)) Also, if she meets another playboy, she'd totally judge him based on her motto of never dating her own kind =)) but in the end, they fall for each other, acting like the most innocent and clumsy couple because they've never been genuine with their prey before xDd

Second, a two-faced MC. On the surface, she seems perfectly normal, maybe even a kind and capable girl. But as the LIs get closer, they realize she's actually quite cold and lacks empathy, with every word and action being textbook-perfect =))) One route this could take is her turning completely unhinged and obsessed with the LI ;)

Or, an MC who is literally a menace to society and she absolutely thrives on it xDdddd

And so much more, but overall, I'd rather have the MC be the one who gets chased instead of doing the chasing, with the LIs reluctantly becoming her personal therapists instead of the usual dynamic. And if she is the one chasing the LIs, I want her to do it in the most extreme way possible =))))))))

I hope that the female protagonists I write about are: opinionated (not following the crowd or echoing others' opinions), independent (whether working or protecting themselves), and not prejudiced (willing to humble themselves and experience different people and things from different worlds, whether good or bad).
Their backgrounds are not important; the focus is on their personality and inner qualities. They should not try to please others or be arrogant. Having some flaws makes them more humane.

I'd love to write a very bitter person that eventually changes for the better as the story goes on! I don't think theres a lot of otome games out there that has the protagonist do a 180 (atleast I havent played any yet)

I'd like a normal girl who is kind and works hard. She makes mistakes, but she's genuine and tries to do her best.

A failure girl. The concept of "I can fix her" XD, because in otome games it's always "I can fix him."

Also, I would like more simple backgrounds instead of the MC always being the chosen one.

To add to the list... an MC with ordinary looks. As many of you mentioned, I'd like the LI to fall in love with her inner qualities instead of her appearance. Attraction can start with appearance, but I wouldn't want that to be the main catalyst for his feelings.

I'd want my heroine to be strong and decisive. She should be able to solve problems on her own instead of relying on men all the time. It's okay for her to be vulnerable sometimes, but I don't want her personality to revolve around needing someone else to save her. I prefer a heroine who can stand on her own while still being kind and caring.

I hope she's the cute type, but with a strong inner core—someone who can pull off lots of adorable little expressions and reactions, who sticks to her decisions no matter what, and who gives without expecting anything in return. Because she's brave, she can face any difficulty head-on with her own strength. Even if she seems weak and fragile on the surface, she's actually the strongest character of all.

I think I would change the MC depending on the setting of the story. If she is a noble, then I expect her to be knowable and cunning; if it is an apocalyptic world, then she must be independent and capable enough to have survive in it; etc etc. For traits, I tend to prefer protagonists that are kind, but not because they are naïve, more aligned with the mentality "in spite of everything, I am choosing to be like this". That does not mean that I want them to be a doormat, I do want her to stand up for herself an those that surround her.

I would really like to write different types of heroines.
First heroine: the girl who is not used to love, has decided she does not really need it and then would meet LIs.
She could be sad because never experienced love before and she started feeling like she was left out of normal life experience. I would really like to see her exploring the romantic relationship, seeing what exactly it is good for.

Second heroine: mc who never felt cared for, her background could be anything.
She just grew up into strong independent woman, who never was vulnerable in front of ours. And LIs would be the one to melt her heart and show her with actions that MC could be vulnerable in front of him

I'd like someone who has a bright and sunny personality, almost genki archetype. Someone despite her sunny disposition still has enough self-worth to know when she gets taken advantage of and when not. I think the contrast between someone who could embody the sun but is also calculating and grounded would be fun and intriguing to read. Someone who isn't afraid to love but wouldn't run after someone just to have her feelings reciprocated. Maybe someone who almost seems untouchable, in which the LI's have to work extra heart to win her over (please more of those LI's who put in work)
