Are you at a point where you keep downloading every new uploads that you don't even consume it?

There are a lot of games and CDs I've downloaded but haven't played yet.
Even though I keep telling myself I'll play them someday, every time a new release comes out, I get distracted by it and end up missing the chance to play them.

guilty—thats me too with otome games 😔 downloaded a lot but the ones im actually consuming can be counted by fingers lmao

I totally get you as this was me before! But I think now knowing that I simply have no time to listen to every single cd (if only we got more than 24h a day:cry:), I became more selective in what I download, like looking at the VA and the plot. Though sometimes it is hard to choose...

Don't have storage to spare so have to be selective or just skip / buy it at another time. This happens to me with books too - (tsundoku) 😂 So I'll have to be mindful and proactive to actually go listen/read them.

I see that many share this sentiment. I agree with the previous posts: I prefer owning certain games and knowing that I *can* play them—and actually getting to play them—since I have little time right now.

It's always better to be safe than sorry. The internet isn't always going to be the same open space we've known. I can totally imagine a future where hard drives full of hoarded data are passed down through families as rare treasures.
So do it while you can - maybe your grandchildren will thank you someday. :smug:

Yeah, I've saved so many CDs that it feels like I have enough to last for decades. I usually only pick out a few that interest me the most to listen to. Since shared links can go dead at any time, I prefer to keep as many backups as I can.

I keep downloading games I'm afraid if the download link is gone if my storage is full I put them in my save file

I've become quite the hoarder too.. I need to learn to let go because I'm quickly running out of space.
I think the links dying is what definitely pushes to consider downloading bc maybe it will not be there when suddenly I become interested in it 😭

I'm exactly the same... It's reassuring to know there are so many people like me!
More than 80% of my games and manga are still sitting in my backlog, untouched...
I always tell myself, "I'll get to them when I have some free time!" But when I finally do have free time, I end up doing something else instead.
If I could take a year off work, I might be able to get through at least half of them. I wish I had more days off!

efinitely! I keep downloading new uploads and saving them to MEGA or Google Drive for later, but I rarely get around to them. After a while, I even forget they're there. 😅

yeah... not enough time and energy is my biggest issue. 🫠 getting old sucks

Yeah, even though there's a good chance I'll never even open them, since some of the games I buy end up completely unplayed,I don't ask for a refund. I just keep them sitting there, waiting for the day I suddenly get the urge to play.

Same goes for all the CD on my hard drive, some I've even compressed. I downloaded them because the descriptions piqued my interest, but if I don't listen right then, I'll most likely just leave them sitting there.

It's one of those things,I don't have to listen to them or play them, but I have to have them. I'm also afraid that if one day I actually want to, I won't be able to find them anymore, because some games or CDs get delisted entirely. And there are already so many out-of-print games and CDs that are nearly impossible to find now.

Oh my god, I've found my people! It's gotten to the point where I bought my own NAS, I have 50tb worth of space and I just keep either buying or downloading anything to do with otome. I don't plan to stop I enjoy having digital things to hoard and sharing them when I can.

As someone who has downloaded a lot of drama CDs and games from here, I can restrain myself now. I don't download things I don't need or that don't pique my interest. After downloading one or two drama CDs, I always listen to them immediately. If they're good, I add them to my collection, if not, I delete them.
:akazukin_sweat:
I don't need drama CDs that I won't listen to again. The number of drama CDs I have is already massive. Looking at it is like looking at the Library of Alexandria, but for drama CDs, lmao

There are many things I haven't even touched yet.
My pace of play has slowed down as I've gotten older.
I wish I had more time.

Lol yeah, I love hoarding things. I like looking at my huge backlog of otome games on my computer like it's a digital library.
I do only download things I know I'm definitely going to play, though.
Otherwise I'll just bookmark the link for later just in case.

Whenever I come across a new release, I end up downloading it.

There are times when I think, "Oh no, my downloads are piling up again," but ultimately, I feel that the time spent surrounded by this mountain of unwatched content—filled with the works I love—is what truly enriches my spirit.lmao

I guess we're all struggling with the same thing. 😂 I think it's just a collecting habit. I feel the same way about running out of storage, too. Sometimes I spend so much time setting up the perfect environment for playing games or listening to audio that I end up being satisfied with that and never actually use it. 😅

Haha yes because I'm worried the link will be gone or expired by the time I want to play it. I've had this happened a few times before but some lovely people reuploaded the links so it was all good. This may not always be the case so I've been careful about stuff I'm interested in. However, now I have a storage problem lol and it doesn't help that some games/files take up a lot of space 😭😭
