Do you play otome or BL games with music?

I tend to listen to the bgm, except when I am trying to 100% the game, then I am not really reading everything and instead I put some random video essay until I reach a part I haven't seen.

My attention span is really bad, so most of the time I mute the actual bgm and play something else from my playlist. But if it's something that I'm really invested in, I won't mute the bgm 🙏🤤

Normally I don't. The game's original BGM is enough for me, and it sets the atmosphere perfectly.

I usually listen to the game's BGM to set the mood, but I often tone it down, because it's too loud for me. I remember turning it up one time, when I was playing Uuultra C, because I was enjoying it a lot. It felt to me like the music was an unseparateable part of the storytelling. Maybe next time in the future, when I find the BGM too bland, I'll turn it off completely and let some cat or duck jazz video play in the backgroud instead.

Normally I find the game's BGM to be perfectly fine to listen to. If the game has some really bad tracks, I'll just turn off the BGM for a moment. That, and the fact that my music playlist is a messy hodgepodge of all kinds of genres that can completely ruin the game's intended atmosphere lol.

oh shoot I don't know why I never thought to do that; game bgm sure does get repetitive quickly... for some reason though I feel like it still does add to the gameplay like in intense situations the music changes, if I had that off how could I tell what atmosphere it is? Maybe if I've already played a certain game, i'll turn off the bgm and put my own though

Unless the game has no voices, I always play it with it's bgm lower and the voices louder. Maybe I up the sfx a little. I love hearing the dialogues and interactions in all my games so I don't tend to play them with music over them.

I never tried to play with music, which is not the game's BGM. But I almost always put on some music or video when I am doing almost anything else (study, scroll, organise anything)
Maybe I would try it one day, but game's soundtrack makes me feel the atmosphere more, so for now I prefer it this way

I always listen to the game BGM tho I've never tried listening to outside music while reading so maybe I'll try it out next time.

i dont listen to music bc it kinda distracts me from the story (i cant do 2 diff things at the same time lol)

I usually prefer playing otome or BL games. I like being able to interact with the story and make choices. The music and voice acting also make the experience more enjoyable.

There are many games where I love the background music and theme songs. However, when I'm actually playing, I want to focus on the voice actors' performances, so I don't play the music. If there is background music, I keep the volume quite low.

l usually keep the music down a little bit because l want to hear the voice more. is better like that.

I only listen to the VA acting more than the bgm so the experience will become more immersive.
