Compulsively downloading BL Games?

i do this because sometimes links get taken down and the backup download speed is the slowest ever so it's better to just have it on your pc first lol

I share the same ideas a some here, I do download anything BL related for fear of the poster taking it down and becoming lost media...

Not just BL VNs (though they're a part of it), but manga, anime, music, games, you name it. Doesn't help that more than half of them are very niche/obscure.
As much as I want to download and preserve all of them, since I'm also stingy about how much storage I have left, oftentimes I end up mentally wrestling with myself over what things do I really want to keep and what things I really don't need. (Nervous laughter)
If we're talking about fanarts, though, I keep *everything* I find even remotely interesting. Like, the amount of times I saw my favorite fanarts disappear from the internet is concerning, honestly (looking at you, pixiv). Good thing image compression is a thing.

So I'm not the only one who does this. I've been slowly accumulating games, anime, manga, movies, music for a long time. A lot of BL themed stuff, but not only that. I used to think,"No need to rush—the internet has everything. I can always download it later." Now I regret not hoarding even more before everything started going downhill. The biggest sharing site in my country has been crippled to a private drive with no option to share files, anime sites are falling like flies, 18+ restrictions everywhere, go-ogle search is increasingly censored... not even talking about local changes. Ugh. It's time to look for some used high-capacity 3.5" hard drives again.

There's so much stuff I've had downloaded at some point that I can't get anymore it's insane lolzz. I used to delete VNs as soon as I finished them to free up my drive, but now I just hold onto them because I don't wanna risk losing them if I want to replay them.

Exactly! I have a bit of a "data hoarder" tendency, too. I feel like if I delete something, it might become impossible to find again later, even though storage space is limited.
