Do you like the type where the characters frequently change their outfits? I really enjoy seeing characters wearing different clothes in different situations. However, perhaps because having too many styles would increase the workload of the game character illustrations, many games often have characters wearing the same style, or arrange another style as a replacement. In some CG, the MC might have multiple sets of clothing, but it is relatively rare to see multiple styles for the MC's illustrations, Lls illustrations, and illustrations in other forms. When other illustration-based merchandise is released after the game, it is quite common for all characters to have new styles.

I'd love to see more sprites variations. In "Trouble Magia" they had a huge collection of sprites for LIs and MC. They had summer school uniform, winter school uniform, set of casual clothes (also summer and winter), roomwear, special clothes for parties, and it's only common route sprites. I wish other games would use at least half of it, it was very refreshing to see new outfits instead of looking at only one

Of course, just like how we change out outfits to match the situation, it will be better for the characters to do the same too. They look more realistic that way. If we really like the LI or MC, we like to see different style of outfits because it gives more inspiration to create arts.

Yes I love it and wish they did more. It feels so much more realistic and immersive. Ive seen some LIs have like a work outfit and a casual outfit, i would love to see even more variations for MC too! I remember in Cupid Parasite lynette did have two outfits, her work outfit and a pretty dress outfit. But her pretty dress outfit was literally used for EVERY scene where she was getting dolled up and its like girl, do you not have other clothes?? 😭

I like all kinds of costumes for characters:
it's not just changing colors or CG. But according to the occasion, different combinations.

For example, work/school uniforms, home clothes, outing clothes, pajamas, etc. The heroine wears the same clothes to the end, which remains unchanged and inevitably boring. After a long time, players are tired of watching it.

Considering the commercial cost, the painter's workload and time, it is not easy. I hope the heroine can change at least 2 sets of clothes to create a different image. Or put it in the reward link, and the player can add clothes for her.

It's not a necessity but it's a nice plus. I liked the variations for the Mistonia heroine (I forgot her name :()
And it just makes the world feel more immersive than the characters always wearing the same thing, if I remember correctly the LIs of tengoku struggle changed outfits right? Or am I mistaking it with another otome.
Also in Amnesia too, all the guys looked better in their work uniforms lol

I totally agree! I'd love to see both the MC and the LIs wearing different outfits more often. 😭 But somehow they stay in the same outfit throughout the game, then suddenly start getting amazing new outfits in all the merch afterward. 😂

Gilbert's route in Piofiore is one of my favorites, and I really loved that the MC got to wear a variety of outfits there! It made the CGs so much more fun to look at.

I honestly can't think of many otome games where the LIs change outfits very often. Even when they do, it's usually just something minor, like taking off a jacket or a hat, rather than wearing a completely different outfit. Or they just end up shirtless instead.

Yes, I appreciate every developer who took on this extra job to offer us a wider variety of character outfits. I like it when it's reflected in sprites too. It's refreshing when a character's clothes match the situation eg. pajamas for sleeping, a yukata for a festival, casual clothes for home etc. It helps me maintain my attention and reduces the chance of getting bored of looking at the same picture for xx hours.

Yes, totally. I think it gives more life to the different scenarios. If they always wear the same outfit, I sometimes end up wondering how many times they've changed clothes while wearing the same thing, or if they even wash their clothes. Those thoughts randomly pop into my head while I'm playing 😂

Yeah I like a variety of outfits. Obviously it is more work for the artists but I prefer more variation in sprites and fewer CGs, personally.

Yes, I really do. I think it makes the characters feel more natural and makes the world feel more alive. When they wear the same outfit all the time, it can feel a bit unrealistic.

Yeah. Both as adding more variations to CGs and sprites (though it puts more work on the production side) and a way to make the characters feel more expressive and natural.

Absolutely! I can see why most games don't really implement it due to constraints but I feel like it really adds to the experience!

The character looks more appealing depending on what they're wearing, so I hope there are lots of different outfit variations.
I wonder if people have higher expectations for characters' outfits in games set in the modern day? I mean, games like *Tokimeki Memorial* get criticized for that, after all. Even in anime, people sometimes say the characters always wear the same clothes—it must be tough for the creators!

Yes, absolutely! It shows dedication on the part of the developer and also helps to shape the character's own personality in subtle ways imo!

Of course!
Characters even feel more alive (?) because many people wear different clothes, not the same outfit

Yes! I really like it! It makes the game more lively. It doesn't even have to be a completely new outfit, even small changes can make a huge difference. For example, someone falls into the mud and their clothes are covered with dirt afterwards. I always love such small details

Yes, Of course! It feels a little more immersive when the characters change into outfits that fit the location. I feel disappointed when the characters aren't shown after their outfits change in a scene, or when the LIs get many outfit changes but the MC's outfit doesn't change much. In reality, there may be some difficult parts, but I hope to show you various costumes in the future.

Yes, I like it!
Sometimes the story needs a new outfit for plot reasons and it looks strange when devs use the same one again and again.

When I played Mistonia's Hope I really wished MC would get a new dress other than the purple one and was very sad seeing same purple dress in each route.

YEEEESSS
Especially if it's a character with an specific fashion sense I like lol
Even better if they are establish fashionistas...
Extra points if I love the artstyle lol

Yes, I really like seeing characters wearing different outfits! It is so fun to see what they prefer. I understand why it is not really used, but I wish to play more games with this feature in the future

I think that fashion can be such a great tool for characterization as well as storytelling. I looove when the characters have different clothing, but I know that it makes the art assets more expensive, so I don't consider it a priority.

Well Yess! I would love the characters have their own wardrobe where they don't just stick one default outfit. Different costume butler fit, work uniforms. It might be elevate the budget, but is for the visual.
