Usually jump through the common route and go directly to the most favorite character. If a game worth playing again it must put strong impression and it's easily to catch up the story.

If I have enough time, I want to start from the beginning!
But if the reason I quit was because it was boring or not fun, it might be better to just start from the middle.

I usually continue if I still remember the plot or stuff from the common route. If it has been long enough where I completely forgot the story then I restart.

I'll continue, despite my horrible memory I tend to catch up with the plot quite quickly, even if it been years since I played it and probably "left it for later because reasons" at the common route or after finished only one route.

I've actually been struggling with the same thing lately. I have way too many games that I started but never finished, because I always get distracted by new releases. So when there aren't any new games coming out, I tend to go back and try to continue the ones I left halfway through.

It feels like a bad habit sometimes—so many games I've never properly finished. When I do go back, I usually check how much I still remember about the story before deciding whether to restart or just continue. Because even if I do start from the beginning again, there's still a chance I might end up dropping it halfway again.

I restart the entire game, it's good because sometimes I forget things and it's also good to get back into the rhythm of the game and relive things again!

I'll just keep playing instead of starting over. For the games I like, it's hard for me not to finish them in one time. Most games that stop for ages in the middle aren't ones I really like.So I usually don't spend too much time on scenes I've already seen, even if I can't remember them anymore.

I prefer to restart. I have bad memory; Even if I remember the plot vividly, it still feel like I'm not full immersed with the story yet.

If it gets localized into your language, it's better to start over from the beginning so you can fully enjoy the story and refresh your memory. Otherwise, you can just continue from where you left off.

So interesting that so far it's a 50/50 split on whether or not to restart. I think I would get impatient if I do (I usually skip read dialogue when playing new routes).

My memory is not That reliable but I'd continue ! I probably took a break for a reason and I'd rather minimize the chance of getting into that mood where I want to drop it again

I usually continue. Sometimes i can forget about game for years then restart if i still want to play.

I like to remember the small details while playing, so I play the Commonroute again before I continue playing. If the game has a fandisc, I would also replay the routes of the characters I've already played at some point, so I know exactly what happened before I play the fandisc. But it depends on your personal taste. If you can cope with not remembering everything and sometimes being a little confused because you don't know what they're referring to or talking about, then there's no problem picking up where you left off

It depends on your memory, in my case I can remember things from the beginning so I would pick up from a certain point. If I left it because I wasn't interested, I would remember those points and come back to it.

I found this right after considering rereading some otome (namely OlySoi and BWS, I've read them like, +4 years ago and I realized I forgot a lot of things ldkjghsdl)

the one game in which I would struggle doing this is probably Jack Jeanne though, it is very long

other than JJ, I would not mind rereading other otome maybe 🤔

if i've forgotten the storyline, i'd start the game from scratch. but if i still remember it, i'll just pick up right where i left off
