Genuinely curious which do you prefer and why?

Option 1 is a brilliantly written thriller: It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every detail connects to the next carrying a steady and sure progression of events, maintaining that momentum and blowing your mind by the end, basically what people will call a masterpiece and have endless discussions over it for years to come.

Option 2 is the emotional roller coaster: It takes you through this journey of pain, hope and healing and it knows how to pull just the right strings to completely break you in the process that by the end of it you are desperate for a happy ending, in other words an unforgettable experience people will remember for the longest time.


To me I'm always looking for those genius thrillers, they make me soooo immersed, actively thinking and digging deep, trying to read in-between the lines.. Like whenever a character is in a critical situation my brain is trying to paint all the possible scenarios to save that character.
Having said that I'm a very emotional person I will more likely than not cry like a baby watching dramas.

Definitely the emotional one. Im a really big crybaby and I love to torture myself with sad stories 🥴 I mean both options are great and I love a well thought out thriller, but theres just something about a good emotional story that can throw you into a bout of depression 😭

Like, you gush about how suspenseful and adrenaline inducing a story was for like a week after seeing it, but a well written, depression-inducing story will leave you emotionally scarred and changed for life. Source: i hate myself 🥲🥲

As a dead inside dense person I'll go with thriller. There aren't many things that can make me feel strong emotions, so at least there will be an interesting story to keep me from watching characters, struggling with emotional drama I can't understand

I like option one.I think the reason I made this choice is that most otome games these days focus heavily on depicting emotions.Some games even give up a lot of great features just to better convey emotions.After playing a lot of similar games, I got tired of this kind of depiction.So I want to see something different in otome games.If there's an otome game like Option One, please definitely recommend it to me. Thank you so much!

Emotional one,,,since i played virche evermore and specifically le salut…i changed….i genuinely sobbed so hard and i really liked the game making jt one of my favorite….im also a cry baby and can cry easily if its a good story and it's usually better since ur more into the story than anything

The emotional one, because nothing beats a good tragic, depressive, unhappy story (y) Well, I enjoy happy endings but the ones were the characters had to endure hardship after hardship to achieve it. It's nice, shedding a tear or two, listening to a random inserted song or OP or ED and feel somehow sad. Yeah, feeling awful it's the best!

I enjoy suspense stories, especially those with a compelling atmosphere created by the script. The uncertainty of whether to trust those around you (friends, lovers, family, colleagues), the unpredictable plot twists, and the thrilling, unexpected endings are all incredibly satisfying.
For example, the otome game "AMNESIA" features four worlds and four male protagonists, with different culprits each time, making it quite interesting.
The hidden character's story at the end is particularly poignant.

我喜歡懸疑故事，尤其是劇本營造的故事氛圍，不知道能否相信身邊人（朋友、戀人、家人、同事）幕後真兇猜不透，劇情結局逆轉，緊張刺激又出乎預料，十分過癮。
例如「AMNESIA」アムネシア這款乙女遊戲，分成4個世界和4個男主角，兇手也換不同人，相當有趣。最後隱藏角色故事令人心疼。
 
I'm a huge thriller/plot fan, and I'm not the type to actually cry with emotional stories lol but still, when I play an otoge I expect an emotion-driven story!

Of course, a well-balanced otome with both characteristics would be ideal, but to me, sidelining the emotional side in favor of plot-heavy thriller would be a letdown. It's more likely I'll relate to the characters in a good emotion-driven plot, as some thrillers can use routes less as an exploration of the characters and their relationship, and more like a way to move the story (such as story-heavy games with true endings, that end up feeling like "the plot route", with unsatisfying romance between the characters)
 
I do like both, buuuut there is something about when any media makes you truly feel that I find incredibly beautiful, that ability to connect even when not in person.

Let's just say that there is a reason why my favourite anime is Death Parade.
