Do VAs influence you to start an Otome?

Definitely!! if i see one of my favorite VAs in the LI list then i would give it a try!!!
It also influence the ranking of that LI in my heart uwu.

I like Toriumi Kousuke (鳥海 浩輔) , well I'm mostly drawn to it because of Mikazuki Munechika from Touken Ranbu Online ////. I ALSO like a lot Irakusa Netoru (刺草 ネトル) but he has more BL works than Otome... the few ones that i know from Otome are Saikyouai Fetishism and Kankinkon...

Yes. I actually started listening to Drama CDs because some guys I play have their VAs do voice work. Some of those works get cursed and funny though...

Back then not so much, but now, definitely. Often, I play an otome or a joseimuke game because a VA (or more) I liked is casted in it and my first route/pick would be their character.

Absolutely!!! I haven't really kept up with Japanese otome games since graduating years ago, but my favorite voice actor is Souma Saitou. I've been playing a few otome games on my Switch lately. I picked one up randomly (so random that I didn't know anything about the plot or cast) and I screamed when I saw Souma Saitou as one of the male leads. So yeah, you could say voice actors have had quite an impact on me. (I'm a voice actor fan, after all)

It's not my fault, nobuhiko okamoto and hirakawa daisuke have open access to my wallet and everytime they star in an otome game the money automatically flows out of my bank account 😮‍💨

They are to me..i always check the otome cast before buying any otome game and as biased as i am whenever i see toki shunichi in there i DIRECTLY buy the game but really directly, but i also like seeing nobuhiko or matsuoka being big seiyuus in japan and having awesome voices.since most of the gameplay is basically clicking on A and somtimes doing choices i think voices play a good role in otome games ( with the art and lore ofc ) since you gonna be playing the game for around 50hours, at least i want to be hearing a voice i know or really like throughout all the routes xD

Honestly no. I love drama CDs but for games, I don't check the cast/VAs at all. I only focus on the visuals, plot, and characters. When I start a game, I don't know who is voicing which character so it is always a nice surprise when I recognize the voice

I'm not a super big seiyuu fan, so I was going to say no, but the more I thought about it, if it was the va for my favourite characters, then the answer would be that it makes me more motivated to start that game, but it's not necessarily a massive push—like changing a game to a "must play game" for me.

no, but that's only because i never look into voice actors or actresses more than a fleeting thought of "oh, was that him/her? i thought i recognized that voice." (∗∕ ∕•̥̥̥̥∕ω∕•̥̥̥̥∕) i know, i know, shame on me.

so when i choose to play a game, it's story and characters first. a lovely voice to accompany it is just a plus to me, but i play too many titles unvoiced to have voice acting impact my decision to play or pass on a game. ╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯

It honestly depends on the otome for me. Sometimes an artstyle or plot is enough for me to not really cre about the voice actors/voice acting, but if for example I see a trailer for a game and the voice sounds heavenly, then I will immedieately download and play xD.

Yes, absolutely. My favorite seiyuu is Tomokazu Sugita, so if I see his name on any otome, it goes straight into the list. Same goes for Umehara Yuuichirou, Hirakawa Daisuke, Fukuyama Jun and Saito Souma. Sadly, I can only play the ones for PC and in english or spanish, I know there are mtl and stuff but I'm not very fond of them and I really have a bad time with kanji. Also, I don't have a Switch, but I'm good with what I can play right now.

Actually I have a list of VA's I'd like to see Yuuki Kaji, KENN, Yoshino Hiroyuki, Namikawa Daisuke and actually i search games with the VA of Noa Arimura from Blackish House

Yes, definitely. The right voice can make me give a game a try even if I don't know it yet.

Yesss but I also open my heart for another seiyuu but.... i will like my fav seiyuu more if there are in the same game

Nope, I'd like to hear many different VAs.

Last time I played 3 games (not otome though) with the same voice (Akira Ishida) and I get bored lmao, its not like I didn't like his voice but I wish to hear different voices.

Yes but a fucked up darksided version of this where I play any game with Hikaru Midorikawa specifically because my partner dislikes one character he portrayed so much I ragebait him with it when we play together. Aside from that we show up for Nobunaga Shimazaki and Jouji Nakata in this house.

It really does affect it, because for me it does influence the character's style. It's not that strict, but if there's an actor I like, all the better, hehe. 🎀

It's a big factor for me, yes hahaha. Plus it actively affects how the character is portrayed depending on how they execute the lines, which may be different to how I would perceive the lines if they weren't voiced.

Yesss, but the influence isn't so big that it's a deal breaker or anything. I have a few VAs I really like so if see them voicing a character, it definitely increases my excitement for the game hehe. I also like when I see them voicing a character I did not expect them to because I always wonder how it'll go and it's refreshing to see them in new roles. However, I don't pick games to play or play games based on who the VAs are. I love games with a good story and great character development so I'm fine with any VAs unless they do a really poor job of portraying their character or something, which I think is super rare. Rather than doing a poor job, there were a few times where I felt like a VA didn't match the character he voiced but I usually got used to it or grew to like it.

not really. good VA work is a nice bonus, but it's never the reason I pick up a game.
For me, story comes first.
