If you ended up in an otome game, which role do you think you'd be?
The heroine, the villainess, the best friend, an NPC, or the final boss?
And why?

Also does the role changes depending on the game theme? For example, fantasy, mystery, school life etc.

In my case, i think i would be a NPC :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
As villainess or final boss i am not bad enough HAHAHAHA
And as heroine, i cannot imagine that lol (maybe if i ended up in a school life otome)

I'd like to be the MC, but it depends on the story and the genre... MCs suffer too much, ugh.

Realistically, I'd be an NPC pretending nothing's happening because dealing with the problems the MC creates is awful, hahaha, but depending on the story, being the MC could be fun. Being the villain is too much work, and I have no plans to take over the world.

Such a cute answer!!!! so, if you can be the MC, in what genre you'd like to be?

Oh man, what a fun question! Tbh, I would want to be the MC's best friend no matter the genre (If somehow I was not a NPC lol)

There's always that one girl that's only ever there so the MC has some friends other than guys, and it looked so fun haha! Being in the front row to all the drama of the main characters without ever being in them, and somehow always knowing information so you can explain the lore, and mostly only there to support her rights and wrongs. Seems like the role for me (。-ω-)ノ

Ohhh that idea of Isekai but in otome!

I'd probably want to be one of those quiet helper who steps in whenever the protagonists are in trouble.
Not sure if anyone knows but something like the tree spirits from Ken ga Kimi (those only Suzukake/MC can communicate with), the kind of existence that watches over things from the sidelines and occasionally lends a hand. 😶‍🌫️
A Doraem◯n-style fix-it-all character seems fun too, but I guess stories are usually more meaningful when the characters have to struggle a little. www

I either want to be the MC's best friend (that way I can get a front row seat to her, messy love life, and hopefully whatever fantastical adventure she's going through), or I think it would be nice to be the MC too (though, I feel like that would be a lot of hard work and suffering. Hopefully I have people that can support me through the hardships...)

Probably an NPC :D Or maybe the eccentric aunt. Though personally, I'd like to be an antagonist—or an antagonist's henchman.

Slice-of-life or fantasy!! Something calm and not too dangerous, but fantasy would be fun too, having powers and all that. But after I saw a manga panel where the protagonist was sent to a fantasy world and she complained that everyone smelled bad, it made me rethink the genre a bit, haha. (˶˃𐃷˂˶)

older sister who only appears in one route to tease the mc's love interest (my brother). (ɔˆз(ˆ⌣ˆc)

if i can't be mc, i will stay in my lane and support the cute mc and my sibling.
✺◟( ⑅❛ั ᴗ ❛ั ⑅)◞✺

i can also be the one who dies early and the brother is trying to get justice for. ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ

edit:
why: i have experience tormenting brothers. ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

I'd love to be the main character, there are a lot of interesting things happening with them, i definitely wouldn't be bored)

Most likely an NPC but I want to be an NPC that smacks sense into the LIs/MC when they act stupid or I could be like the voice in their heads. Like no MC you should not follow that shady looking guy into the dark alley way. No LI number 2, that is not how you show a girl you like her.

I would love to be the MC, specially in the stories where the MC is bullied and we have no choice of cussing the guys back so I would wash my soul saying what I wanted, I'm not someone that takes others shit home like some MC from games I like ugh

But also, most of my favorite otomes are set in fantasy worlds so I would love to experience a different reality

Random villager A, who has one random phrase or gets pictured in one single background buying apples, or something like this. Being MC is nice, but they usually have so many bad things happening to them. And many LIs that I love would be unsufferable to deal in real life, so I just want to live a boring life

I want to be just side character or random npc in otome game and see how story go. Being MC is problematic sometimes same as villainess. After watching anime I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons. I feel its better be invisible and free. Explore some fantasy world and do as i wish.

This might be crazy but perhaps an LI (if i became a guy + I definitely would be the least popular LMAO)

If I weren't an LI, probably an NPC who opposes the heroine (not in a steal-ur-guy way but a evil organization worker way ^^!!!)

I think I would be an MС cat.I see everything, I watch everything, I approve of men and, if necessary, I will support them.
X)

I'd like to be the heroine if possible, since I probably already know how to survive in that otome game! Besides, what's the point of ending up in it if I might not even have a chance to interact with the LIs, right?✨
If that's not an option, I'd be a side character, watching all the drama unfold between the heroine and the villainess. I'm not the type to make a scene in public.

After writing the above, I remembered someone saying that, unlike villainesses in manga or manhwa, otome game villainesses aren't really that evil. The villainesses in TMGS, Angelique, and Meine Liebe are more like tsundere characters, so maybe being a villainess isn't that bad after all!

id like to be reincarnated into a boy/genderless Thing and be a love interest ehehehehe. or maybe a crossdressing girl who is also a love interest (tho im not androgynous enough for that but you know, anime). or maybe not a love interest but a friend who has a fanservice semi-romantic ending. either way i think i would be the nerdy loser hermit girlfailure/boyfailure/thingfailure archetype which i think should appear more in otome (and yuri and galge and bl)
