Do you clear all the characters in an otome game before starting a new one?

I used to do every route first because when I started playing otome games there weren't many localized ones, so I didn't have many to choose from compared to today lol. Nowadays I tend to jump around between a few otome games after finishing a route, mainly because my backlog is so huge and I get curious of other games haha, but if I'm really invested in the game I end up finishing all the routes before playing another one. Even though I jump around a lot, I almost always do every route. I only skip if I absoluetly have to. However, recently I've been thinking maybe I should go back to what I was doing previously just so that the story flows better and I won't have forgotten some of the stuff that happened.

I know I'll never finish a game once I start a new one =))) My perfectionism doesn't help, worse. So I try to complete it first, just to get bored of that game and end up not playing anything at all for a year or so =))) Such a pain.

It's not like I get confused playing multiple games at once, but most of the time I just can't bring myself to do it. Not just for VNs, but any type of game =)))"

Depends !! Im sometimes sooo focused on an otome game that i genuinely play it for hours and days without looking at the others xD, but there's time when i buy a game start playing for some hours and leave it to play other ones 😭 thy usually end in my backlog games after…but i essentially force myself into finishing one first before continuing!!

I usually try to complete all the LIs' routes if possible... but sometimes I skip LIs that really aren't my type (like, I'm personally not a fan of older characters lol). If there's an LI whose route unlocks only after clearing others, I might just look up a guide and rush through their Best Ending, skipping the Good and Bad endings entirely.
 
I think I also used to try clearing all the routes, but then found out I'm not as interested and patient for that. Therefore I just play my favorite !

I've sadly never completed every single route in an otome game. I'm just not the type to enjoy every personality a game has to offer, and there are plenty of character archetypes that simply aren't my thing
 
I usually try to finish a game completely before starting the next one. Maybe not always 100%, though—for example, I don't try to collect all the illustrations (if that requires consulting the walkthrough too often).
The exception—games like Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side. For these, I just couldn't bring myself to play through the whole thing over and over again, so I had to take breaks - usually after completing two routes.

I like to 100% so I'll try to clear every route but if I can't get myself to keep going then I would move on to the next one
 
It depends. If there aren't any other games, I do them all in one go. If not... well, I do them when I feel like it, but only to complete everything. If I don't like a route, I use the skip button. I need to see the entire gallery complete. (The only routes I don't do, with very few exceptions, are the poly routes.)
 
I will clear all of them when I have time. Only when all the routes are completed will the story be complete. I met a character that I was not interested in, but I fell in love with it after the strategy. Fortunately, I didn't skip the text, otherwise I would have missed the brilliant route.

Hidden characters, multi-week routes, and endings are also highlights.

Unless there are several games you want to play the most at present, you can only attack the favorite one of each game first, and then change to the next one. The disadvantage is that you will forget the content of each previous one.
 
I make it a habit to complete everything in a game before moving on to the next one; otherwise, I might never pick it up again—I know my bad habits all too well. Besides, if I go too long without playing, I tend to completely forget the game's world and lore, which ruins the experience. I might even end up replaying a character arc I'd already finished ages ago.

I play all the routes of a game before I start another. I want to experience the whole story of my games, and missing a LI just doesn't feel right. Also, I almost always like a character more than I originally thought after their route. My opinion of an LI can change drastically after their route, and sometimes a character I didn't like originally becomes my favorite character of the game, while the LI I originally liked the most may be my least favorite in the end.
 
I generally like to complete every route, but it really depends on the game. If I enjoy the story or the worldbuilding, or if the game reveals the full picture only after you've finished every route, I'll definitely aim for 100% completion. I also enjoy seeing sides of the characters that aren't revealed in my favorite's route, and it's not unusual for me to end up loving a character I wasn't that interested in at first. That's why I usually try to play everyone's route. That said, if I'm especially satisfied with my favorite's route or I'm short on time, I might move on to another game and come back later to finish the rest.
 
I can not finish the game without getting bored, so I play many games at the same time.
I understand why it's good idea to clear the game and only then to start new one, but I just can't help myself lately
 
I used to make a point of finishing every route in a game, but sometimes I had to drag myself through a route to the extent that it made playing feel more like a chore. And then all I feel afterward is relief that I finally got it over with. There's no need to make my hobby into just another chore. And those routes I read years ago that I didn't like? I can't even remember much about them now anyway.
And so now I play the routes I'm interested in, and if I don't feel compelled to play certain routes then I'll move on. I'll never have the time to play all of the games that I want to, so I'll make sure the time I do spend with games is enjoyable.

There were a couple of games where I couldn't finish a route.
1. One was because they had female partner despite being tagged as otome (amare wasn't a popular term back in the day). But this game had good male leads that had my fancy.
2. This game had a really really young male lead and a twin route where I need to seduce both at the same time while juggling stat raising. -Brother conflict *cough*
3. This game had a himbo male lead but he really reminds me of an upperclassman at school and I couldn't finish his route - Birushana.
 
I used to finish every character's route before starting a new game, but these days, because I don't have as much time or energy, I skip the routes I'm not interested in.:cry:
 
I used to clear everyone because I feel fresh, but now I only play the routes of the characters I love！
 
Yeah, mostly because I don't like playing a game and not doing all the content in general, with a few exceptions lol
 
yes i like to clear all the characters before moving on. i just feel like if i dont then i havent finished the game, like im leaving the game half done or unfinished. even if its a route that i dont like i still speed through it, even if im only half paying attention. i feel like i havent completed the game if i dont see all the routes and endings.
 
I fully clear each otome I play.
I like to see everything the game has to offer even its bad endings.
 
I used to finish a game at 100% before going for the next one, but if my favorite character takes a while to come out it will be difficult to continue vs it comes out first it's hard for me to continue lmao it's just a feeling

I finish them anyway, but in the long term, so halfway through I start another one and vary the story theme
 
I'm somewhere in the middle. 😄 I usually start with the characters I'm most interested in, and if the game really grabs me, I'll end up doing every route. I've definitely had a few cases where a character I thought I'd completely ignore ended up becoming one of my favorites after playing their route. But if I'm not enjoying the writing anymore, I don't really force myself to 100% it. I'd rather leave with a good impression than turn it into a chore.
