Your opinion on otome gacha games

i used to grind on tears of themis and obey me a lot but now since im a full time college student, i can't keep up with them anymore due to have no time and burn out already

im fine with regular gacha games, but otome gacha games are way too much for me.. they obviously require a lot of your money to be able to fully "main" your favourite boy, and im not a fan of that xdd id rather choose a one-time purchase title than a title that forces you to constantly sink your money into it or else youll be gatekept out of 90% of the content
i think chinese otome gacha are amazing though! i played tears of themis a little in the past, and i enjoyed my time with it. especially the little minigames heehee. i also hear nothing but praise towards light and night AND lovebrush chronicles!! but since i cant play gacha otome i just stare at them from the distance.. a little jealous but happy for all the girlies who are enjoying their time with these..........!

在我看來，大多數手機遊戲開發商設計扭蛋機制時，中獎幾率都極低，目的只是為了讓遊戲無限期地運作下去，並讓玩家花錢。

我只喜歡享受完整的故事情節，就像讀小說一樣，所以我不會玩這類遊戲。

Nope, I wouldn't come near an otome gacha with a 10ft pole. They give me much more anxiety than enjoyment with the way they're built to be an endless money pit. Yes, I played the Ikemen Cybird games when I was younger but at this age I don't have the time nor patience to grind like before. I played ToT for a bit when I started making my own money but I felt more frustration than joy with how bad my luck was.
I feel safe paying $45 at once for a long game that will give me joy for the next 50-60 hours at my own pace with no fear of missing out.
(and I will never forgive Broccoli for ditching its otome roots and turning UtaPri into generic joseimuke gacha rhythm hell)

I dislike them and stay away. Any enjoyment from the story is lost due to having a terrible game play loop.

ikr!! i hate how most of the otome/joseimuke media mostly turn out to be some cashgrab games when they adapting it into games. (⁠ ⁠≧⁠Д⁠≦⁠)

I really dislike gacha, i prefer to buy a full game upfront than play a "free" game that you have to pay to unlock everything or to get full enjoyment.

Love them because you get a constant flow of content from your favorite characters and story, and you can greet them daily, dress them up or interact directly with your favorite LI and learn new things about him as time passes and more stuff releases gradually. In a way it feels really immersive.

Hate them because you'll probably have to spend for a 100% collection of your favorite character if you arent very lucky, you have to skip out on the other LIs content unless you whale, important lore or developments can be hidden behind limited or paywalled cards, events might not rerun and you'll miss out on content forever, and sometimes the stories are clearly written with no end in sight because they want to milk the game for as long as possible.

The cons outweigh the pros and I prefer traditional VNs but I'd be lying if I said logging into a game daily just to greet a character I love didnt give me strength for the day.

I play rhythm gacha games because I enjoy the rhythm aspect of them and although I have some faves, I'm ok with and I've accepted the fact I'm not going to get every one of their cards. But for otome gacha games, I feel like it'll be impossible to get the full story, especially of your fave, without spending any money. I've spent money on rhythm games before but I'm still mostly a free to play player. I play otome games for the story and characters so I much prefer paying once for the full completed experience, but with otome gacha games you can't do that. The stories aren't completed since new content continue to be added and some characters may get more content than others. You probably have to login in every day for dailies/rewards, while for otome non-gacha games you can play whenever you want and play at your own pace. You also never know if the game will one day shut down and all that time and money you spent on it will gone forever (unless they make an offline version). I know some people love them and I get why, but due to these reasons I'm not a fan and don't play them.

Hate these to the point i don't consider them otome games..since your main goal isn't the story or the ending but just to farm tier for the game's currency to get cards, characters whatever of your "favourite" that's actually sad to see a system like the gacha system getting mix with something that was supposed to be only dedicated to a story ..

I play a few Chinese gacha otome but part of me wishes they were a series of console otome instead. It can be a hassle to keep up with constant cards and events, especially if you like more than one LI.

I still play gacha games, but not as much as I used to. I think I've started to get a little bored with the lack of new content, and the low gacha rates can be pretty frustrating. Sometimes it makes me feel disappointed. Even so, I haven't deleted the games. I still log in regularly and keep up with them.

I used to be reaaaaally into GaaS. Until I wasn't. I needed to give my focus to something else altogether for a couple of weeks without much time for checking my phone or going online in any capacity, and it worked as a detox of sorts. Ever since, whenever I'd try to get into a gacha game, I'd realize how... pointless it all felt? Most times, it's fiction that's reliant on stagnation in its storytelling and character writing because otherwise, arcs are wrapped up, you can't continue with your endless-until-EoS plot, and the characters if they get resolution, they become sort of redundant in the context of the story. Kind of a bummer.

No judgement to people that love it, that's great for them, but, eh... for me, I would rather focus on other types of fiction, especially if they're "finished," yeah? Movies, books, video games, visual novels, anime, manga... it's more fulfilling for me!

I never play otome gacha games as the FOMO is severe regarding favorites. o(TヘTo)
I cannot personally pay for storylines that I cannot continue to own if the game ceases serverwise.

If it's in the vein of it's purely cosmetics and you're not losing to missing storylines and scenarios? I can see the appeal, but many cosmetics or alters are tied to scenarios you'll never be able to experience without it.

If I can play gachas as a F2P and it either requires more grinding or time to experience the same game as others willing to pay, I would consider it. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

I haven't played Gacha Otome in about 2 years. I really dislike the monetization scheme and the amount of time you have to put into them

and as mentioned, you won't have access to them in the future when the servers go down. So it feels pointless to invest money and/or time into. However, I do still watch the stories/cards on Youtube for the games I used to play. like Tears of Themis, Love and Deepspace, Ikemen Series, etc.

Definitely used to be my favorite type of games. Now I just don't have time to grind or to play, but it's so fun going back to them once in a while. I get hit by a huge wave of nostalgia and overall they're pretty entertaining.

Once I get emotionally attached to the characters it's hard to part with them until the game inevitably gets hit with EoS, precisely because they're ephemeral that I put more priority into playing them while my backlog of other otome games grow. I am not a fan of the gacha aspect though.

I used to play Love and Deepspace (I rage quit because I kept losing to Zayne, and Rafayel won't come home on his limited banner. Fu*** tragedy)

I've come to terms with the fact that I have absolutely terrible luck when it comes to gacha games. I also hate spending hours grinding, only to lose in the end.

So yeah, I'm pretty biased. I might feel differently if I actually won more often in gacha games, but as things stand, any otome game with a gacha system is my nemesis.

It's just so exhausting. And my luck is absolutely terrible — I always end up hitting the pity system.

I don't even know why I'm still playing it. Log in, do the dailies, log out… maybe it's just become a part of my routine. I don't even pay attention to the story anymore. I just log in, take a look, tap on the guys for a bit, then quickly leave. Sometimes I just stare at the characters and don't even know what to do with myself.

I'm never playing this kind of game again — I'll just admire them from a distance...

I really enjoyed my time with Yumekuro and Ichu before they sadly EOS'd, I'm still so bitter that we got a localised version of the Ichu switch game that cut out the affection stories. Like that was so much of Ichu's appeal, and I geniunely don't know why the western release was butchered like that other than they didn't want to pay the translators even more than they had too </3

I liked LaDs and while like, yeah, the story in the gacha cards are nice and spicy, I wanted way more main story development. It felt extremely disconnected. I enjoyed Tears of Themis alot too but in general, it's hard for me to stick to gacha games since I've always been some who's off-and-on with games.

I do have a soft spot since playing the old shall we date games and some of cybird's ikemen series (I miss ikerevo) were one of the stepping stones into me getting into commerical jp otome, but I'd rather shill out a set price and get a full experience rather than be led on for years and spoonfed slowly
