When it's an FD or sequel and the LI chooses to believe someone else—possibly a random person—over the MC.
This was the case for me with Bustafellows Season 2. I didn't even play it because my friend warned me that our shared favourite LI did exactly that. Any other former Mozu enjoyers here? I felt good when I found out that we die in the bad end of his route in that game (✿◡‿◡)

- them hurting the heroine mentally / physically / emotionally willfully and not batting an eye over it
- cheating on the heroine. if they're capable of cheating in a bad end then they're perfectly capable of cheating as a human being, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Like other people have said: rape. I can tolerate a lot of messed up behaviour, like the LI killing you or locking you in a cage, but that's where I draw the line. It makes me really uncomfortable.

I played it! Since Mozu wasn't my favorite, it didn't affect me, but that route made me really angry. It felt karmic that Teuta died because of Mozu and how soft he was on the other girl, after Teuta supported him so much in season 1. But the route was definitely good and full of tension, although I expected this to happen more with Helvetica than with Mozu!

I was about to write LIs who are always berating the MC until I remembered I managed to sit through a certain LI's route in Brothers Conflict because of the way his VA would say "nee-san~" LMAO. So I guess nothing as well? Idk, maybe I'll discover my landmine one day.

Legit aaaaany sort of crazy non consensual stuff. Especially rape. It's crazy to think about how many of us wrote similar answers since most of us experience such interactions in everday life - harassment, stalking, even worse stuff.
Many of us have trauma from these actions and feel such an uncomfortable whiplash of emotions seeing it in our comfort games, because it can bring back awful memories.
...just so the game writers bring that into the games we love...crazy move...

Akira's route where he straight up tried to rape her AFTER she almost got raped by the villain. Safe to say I was pretty pissed off lol.

i think the only way for a li to piss me off is to make him care more about a person other than me (heroine). especially if that other person is a man, whether its a childhood friend or a fated mate or anything else. also any discussions of his past relationships, no matter who he was with (if he was a playboy who slept around with various faceless nameless women in the past then i dont care). im right here right now and if you dont wanna be romanced then fuck off and dont be a love interest in the first place!!!!!!
oh and the totally uncalled for ntr. if im not wrong, seduce me 2 had all your lis you dont choose married off to other women, which is like. huh? if you want to make an ntr story, at least give me the option to steal the husbands from their wives? im not against ntr in this case.. everything else though is a massive nono!

ive never dropped a game cause of my issues with it but my biggest gripe ever is when a love interest denies their love for the mc i think it's one of the main reasons why i only like very specific type of tsunderes but i genuinely cant stand it when lis pretend to not have feelings for the mc or straight up deny that there's anything like that going even if it's for a reason like to protect her or whatever like i dont care what your thought process is man ;;; i get that this creates good angst but for me it still feels like rejection towards her and realistically no one would continue pursuing someone after they say to their face that they dont like them TT in my eyes they should like her enough to be selfish always

The only thing that actually bothers me in otoge is when the LI doubts the MC, after they've known each other for a good amount of time. But I won't drop the game for something like that lol I have a very high tolerance for those things. I agree with the LI prioritizing characters other than the MC as well though! It feels like the MC is being sidelined :(
I actually like darker stories that deal with problematic dynamics (I do prefer it when they go for a more realistic/psychological approach, but I enjoy some of the romantic ones as well tbh), so it won't make me drop a game for that

I haven't come across anything so bad that it would make me want to delete, but the LI being cold most of the route will kill my interest quick.

I'm a firm believer, in otomes, LI shouldn't have eyes for another so cheating on MC is a big no-no. ♡(ӦｖӦ｡)
Like others said, unless EVERY route includes it, I won't delete, I just switch routes.
Physically harming MC is also not in my wheelhouse of enjoyment so I'd pass on that one as well. ᕙ( : ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ
I'd also like to tack on animal abuse or animal death especially intentionally and towards a character's pet.

Oh my god, I hate when games write it so it seems like we're the ones chasing after a current playboy… It's one of the few situations that takes me out as a self-inserter because, absolutely not. The LI will obviously not want to settle down but MC will be tripping over their feet making up excuses for loving him (ㆆ_ㆆ)
Taking this out of strictly otome, any game with romance as a feature that pairs off the LIs you don't choose—even worse if it's with each other. I played the recent Story of Seasons and was taken aback seeing how many people want it to be like the original game's system with rival marriages. It's not like they completely removed rival pairings either—the events still exist after you marry someone, and you can still give them "permission" to date when the characters talk to you about it. Honestly I didn't even want to see those. There are many games that do this sort of thing, and it's so ugh.
Bringing the topic back to otome, though, it does put me off an LI if the LI so easily decides to be with someone else in a bad end or ending that isn't theirs—especially if they were shown as being into you the entire story otherwise.

A character who egregiously bullies the MC and the protagonist either never stands up for themself or is never given the option, ROs that are still not over their past partner, ROs that pair up with others if not on their route, cheating/flirty ROs (sometimes this goes hand in hand, do not even get me started on the possessive characters who are like this), and ROs that are already in relationships. I'm sure I'm missing more but I really do not like when any of these occur and if I know any of this happens in a game or on a particular route then I'm not playing that game or route.

i get it i get it!! but i feel like its my guilty pleasure to capture a manslut. like, theres something so cute about a dude who carelessly sleeps around meeting the heroine and somehow losing all his desire to whore around.. maybe this isnt true romance, but theres definitely something about it...... so i guess basically i like it when its the playboy whos chasing after the heroine, not the other way around:p
(as long as him playing with other women is not explicitly shown because that would be too much!!!!!)
lol this is why im not into western romance games at all. westerners value realism above everything, which is why they dont mind at all if a love interest eventually finds someone other than the heroine, ESPECIALLY if its li x li. im NOT fine with that. either this li is captured by me, or he stays single forever. >:( (would be easily fixable with a harem ending, but there are not that many harem otome)
though i guess i would be fine with it if he is unhappy with his new relationship, like if its a forced marriage or something. still not exactly good, but if hes suffering without the heroine then i wouldnt mind (evil)
