What is one side character from any otome/BL that you think deserves to have their own route?

tani from omega vampire and adam from bustafellows. tani is the mc's best friend but he seems to have a little crush on the mc and i think they could be cute together. adam is also bustafellows mc's best friend and is in love with her

Like in general... Rui but in alternativa... Rui but with a route... Getting up to stuff... I'd trade Yang for him in a heartbeat....

This guy from Galtia. Also the best friend from Jock Studio, I found him hotter than all the actual jocks lol.

Adam from Bustafellows! Why did you give him a whole section in the first season and not a route? I was really hoping he'd get one in season 2.

He technically had a route, but it was more like a semi-route and not a fully complete one, so I pick Demento from Period Cube. I want more of my deranged boy. For another who did not get a route at all: Dromi from Cafe Enchante.

OK RANT TIME

I will never stop being mad/sad that Shingakkou didn't have a Jack route. His character & relationship with Michael was one of my favorite things about the game, it's a lot more compelling than most of the actual love interests. (And I like all the LIs! Jack was just so much fun that he was on same level as universally acclaimed best boy Neil for me even tho he doesn't have a route!) Such a well done bully redemption arc with this character, he's so tragically moe and somehow their interactions showcase both Michael's most immature and mature sides, Jack brings out his tsuntsun so well. I just wanted them to both grow up and learn to treat each other better and be happy, so when that eventually happens it is really satisfying, but also cmon there was real chemistry there!!! No romance not even in the fandisc?!

It seemed the intention was to include a strong platonic bond with a token straight character who had a legit important role in the story, and sure the dynamic does still work as a platonic one. It wasn't a "lmao you really expect me to believe there's no gay feelings here" situation so much as passed up potential... but the potential was still so obvious that it felt like the elephant in the room the whole game.

Part of why it sticks out so much to me (aside from just me loving the ship lol) is that the normal character routes are almost identical plot wise, such that there's a lot of advice out there to just play 1 of those 3 routes and move on to the final 2 routes. (Personally I think that take is kind of overblown - I like how those routes give alternative perspectives on the main themes & Michael's development - but yeah it def is a noticeable weak spot.) But bc of Jack's role in that plot, his hypothetical route would have to significantly diverge... So now I'm not just frustrated that a character I love didn't get a romance, but also that the story sent me down the same path with a different LI three times a row while ignoring this other path that could've livened things up :(

Every time without fail when I play non otome/non BL visual novels, I lament that 99% of the time none of the guys have routes. Stop making the best friends cute if you don't want me to activate fujoshi mode.

Actual side characters in otome and BL though? Hm... to this day I still wish Bunbun had a route in NO, THANK YOU!!! And! NITRO CHiRAL has a lot of characters I always thought had potential for full blown, non just-give-them-a-short-bad-ending-and-call-it-a-day routes; great designs, voices, and hints of personality that leave you wanting more... cruel and unusual punishment.

It would be amazing if Roberto got his own route in Piofiore! Honestly, his image was pretty much ruined in one of the other routes... but his character design is just too good to be wasted like this! I mean, he's literally so handsome.

Finally someone asked this question! Some supporting role 'character style and personality really attract me. I can't help staring at supporting role every time I visit the main character. It's really a pity that we can't conquer him!

When I play, I find this boy very cute and attractive to me, a boy who is both cute and fierce.

Although I cannot have them, I have fantasized about their stories countless times in my mind. It can also be considered a kind of perfection.

I agree! It's always the male best friends!!! Them, or the random mysterious side character who sometimes is the most interesting character.
 
Kanan from Olympia Soiree - I hated him in the OG game but believe he has a great backstory that's quite tragic...wished to see what the devs would've done with him.
