Tragic or Happy Ends in Otome—Which Team Are You On?

Most of the time, I still prefer good endings, but some characters feel like they can only find happiness in the bad ending.

One of the main purposes of playing an otome game is to reach a happy ending after going through many twists and turns. I welcome tragedy along the way, but if the ending ends in tragedy, it will be so sad that it will affect my real life. When I looked up at the beautiful blue sky and burst into tears, I was surprised at how much I got into it.

I've been like this ever since I first started playing games. I usually end up getting the bad ending first because I tend to think, "better to go through the sadness first and be happy later." Even now, I'm still like that. I also use guides when playing because if I don't, I almost always end up with a bad ending. Though sometimes I can kind of guess what's going to happen next, and it usually turns out exactly the way I expected.

I like happy ends, i will only give bad endings a go if it is necessary to unlock something or if a review said that it is really good.

Depends on the ending itself, though I feel like there's a lack of bad i.e. tragic endings in the industry as they usually leave to an abrupt end. Whereas happy endings allow you to continue with the route

When I was younger, I preferred warm and uplifting stories with happy endings. But as I've gotten older, I've found myself becoming more drawn to heavier and more emotionally intense stories.
These days, I really enjoy stories that explore darker themes or leave a strong emotional impact. There's just something memorable about a well-written tragic or bittersweet story that stays with me long after I've finished it.

I can take bittersweet or sad endings if the story is good, but it can never beat happy endings for me.
And I think there should always be happy ending route to heal my heart after seeing bad ending.

I definitely prefer happy endings because I want to see everyone happy, but I don't mind occasionally having some bittersweet endings like if it fits the theme of the game. I feel like for bittersweet endings there needs to be a fandisc or short episodes afterwards to make up for the bittersweet ending. As for tragic endings, I don't mind them as bad endings. Sometimes they can be done really well, will reveal some new info or show a different side to the LI (as long as they're not way too out of character).

I love to read realistic plots and seeing characters go through intense emotions. If the ending is happy or not isn't something I focus on. I want a story good enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. Sure, a happy ending after all the chaos is always welcome, but if it all ends in an emotional mess, I won't complain
