Do you read otome with or without guides?

How I play usually depends on my free time. If I'm free, I'll go in totally blind for the first run. Otherwise, I'll just use a walkthrough for my favorite LI to clear their route first.

I always play with guides because I always want the bad endings before I get the good endings + it also helps me get the true route for that li rather than some normal ending.

I always use guides to save time, to choose the order in which I want to play the endings. I only make my own choices when the game is very short.

I try to complete the games I'm interested in on 100%, so i use guides. I get used to it so much, that's it's hard for me to go to at least first ending blindly, even though sometimes i want to

Blind run first for me. I just pick whatever feels right and see where the choices take me, then use guides for cleanup/other routes later. I only look up walkthroughs early on if the game mechanics are convoluted.

I first look up the recommended order for the routes to get the best gaming experience, then play blind on the first time and see what ending it takes me to. After that, I search for walkthrough as I have no confidence in collecting all the remaining endings.

Unless it is a game with no bad endings i will always use a guide, because i don't want to miss scenes with a character i am going for.

At first, I just pick options at random based on how I think I'd respond if I were in that situation, but if I see it's getting tough, I look for the guide because I like to have all the CG scenes. But after the first route, whether it's a good ending or a bad ending… I usually go for the middle ground—in short, I choose one option for one character and another for the other, alternating between them when I'm playing without a guide. Once I have the guide, I tend to start with the character who caught my attention the least and work my way up to the one I think I'll like the most, and interestingly, I almost always get it right.

Basically, at first, I play without looking at a guide and choose the options that I think are best. I enjoy the excitement of not knowing what will happen next. After that, when I decide to use a guide depends on the situation. But in the end, I usually do look at a guide.

I almost always use guides and also try to follow the recommended route order as much as possible... I feel like sometimes playing certain routes before others can drastically change your experience overall TT

i play with guides 90 percent of the time. sometimes i go in blind but thats mostly because im too lazy to get my phone and look up a guide. i like using guides so i can get to the endings without getting stuck in a lot of bad endings that are just dead ends and not like a real bad ending. plus its less thinking on my end haha

I need to play games with a guide, without which I can easily achieve a sad ending:eek:

One thing that I like about visual novels or interactive story games is how your choices can actually affect what happen later in the story. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of looking up choice guides just to get the good ending. But if I keep getting bad endings over and over, then I'll probably check a guide.

My first playthrough is always blind. And this is the only time I play through the bad endings. I'm "lucky"with bad endings even if i don't like them T.T

I play with guides cuz i like to be precise with my choices and endings ☺️ And uhh because i once played a game (not necessarily a VN) with no guide and all my hours of gameplay spanning offer a month of playing wasted to a bad end due to 1 single choice towards the end of the game. I was so devastated i never touched the game or the series again and it makes me make up my mind to always look at guides

I'll try one blind playthrough, and after that use the guides as I'm quite a busy person now I'm not NEETing (ーωー)
