Do you watch the animes of otome games?

I have watched it before, and I think otome game anime is pretty good, but due to personal reasons, I don't have much patience for watching anime……

Hmm, not anymore
last time I watched their anime was many many years ago with UtaPri and Dialovers
but ever since I got into otome I limit myself to reading the otome themselves because a lot of the anime don't seem to be up to the quality that there is inside otome. I like to absorb as much details as possible often, which a lot of otome offer narrative wise. Not to mention a lot of important narrative points get deleted from anime adaptations as they have to prioritize a main route.
however, I wouldn't mind if Virche for example got an adaptation (for the sole purpose of having aesthetic Ankou gifs to show off jkglsdgs)

my other pet peeve with anime is what happened with UtaPri, the MC doesn't precisely romance anyone in specific in the end of the first season...

I don't watch the animes of otome games very often. This isn't limited to anime adaptations of otome games, but just because something is adapted into an anime doesn't mean it's always going to be good. It would be great if all anime were of the same quality as utapri.

I've watched some, but usually I don't because they focus more on friendship, and I'd rather watch my favorite romantic route animated instead

Nope, I pretty much just stick to playing video games or visual novels, though I guess I should give newer anime a chance someday. Maybe I'll find one that's actually my thing :P

I do watch anime adaptations of otome games 😊 The ones I've seen include Diabolik Lovers, Amnesia, Arcana Famiglia, Dance with Devils, Hakuouki, Dynamic Chord, and many more. I honestly love all of them ✨

Yes, I have seen it. In my recollection, Prince of Song was the first anime with a reverse harem theme that I watched. At that time, I had never encountered female-oriented games. I was primarily drawn to the attractive characters.

I used to watch them when i didn't know what was an otome game, i did enjoyed them but after begin playing the actual games i stopped, some of them are not that good as the games are, but it depends, some are actually worth the watch

Idk, I feel like the game is always gonna be better than the anime. There's always something lacking to me.

I think I generally watch the anime before finding out it has an otome game. I have watched La corda d'oro, hakuouki and Neo Angelique so far.
If I find out about the game first, I'll always end up playing it and never watching the anime. The games are usually superior in storytelling IMO.

My stages of watching the Diabolik Lovers anime:

  1. Wow, this is queerly :D but now I'm curious about the story in the visual novel.
  2. Oh, it did a poor job of developing the characters and it's way too short. The visual novel is clearly the main experience.
  3. The anime is actually packed with references and was made with existing fans in mind. The backgrounds are beautiful, a lot of effort went into it, and it does a great job creating that oppressive atmosphere.

I've come to see otome anime adaptations as more of an aesthetic advertisement and a visual compilation of the source material. They're full of little references, striking visuals, and fanservice for people who already know the story. In a way, they even create an alternate canon of their own.

After coming to this conclusion, I've developed a much more positive attitude toward anime adaptations of otome games.

I think my first otome game anime was Angelique. I really liked it and ended up watching the whole series. It was so exciting to see all the characters moving and talking because, at the time, it was rare for otome games to get anime adaptations.

I also liked Norn9. Sadly, I don't remember the story very well anymore, but I loved the atmosphere and the soundtrack. 💕

So yes, I do watch them, but just like with other anime, there are times when I don't have enough time to watch entire episodes.
I wish I had more time so I could play more otome games and watch more anime.
