How old are you when you first played Otome game

The first true otome game I ever played was Yo-Jin-Bo and that was back when I was maybe 10 or 11-ish. It was one of the only translated otome games at that point, where previously I had only ever seen VNs with male MC and female LIs (Katawa Shoujo was my introduction to VNs). Though I've been playing games with otome elements much younger than that- I got into the Harvest Moon series when I was like, 7?

I was 15-16 years old when i first played otome , it was Tokimeki Memorial on DS ~ At the time i've had heard of Reverse harem anime but i didn't know it was a game adapted to anime so ° lol it was such a fun discovery one that i would never forget (nor regret) ^^

My first otome game... i dont really remember if it was Chou Doku or Diabolik Lovers lol But most of the otome VNs during that time was psp or psvita version. And i remember searching for an emulator to play these games since i cant afford to buy a console during that time.

And i remember later a friend gave me his old psvita console since he is not using it anymore and i was very excited to play Variable Barricade, but then suddenly the console shuts down and even charging it didnt work lol At the end i continued using emulator XD

The only inconvenience now is that my PC storage is almost full...

Btw about the age i dont really remember, maybe it was around 16~19 years old that i became addicted to visual novels! i found it very interesting at first; that the story ending can be changed based on the player choices. And the sensation of getting HE without a guide is just 100 pts.

I was twelve!
I found Date Warp while looking for a jrpg with a female protagonist and it was the best thing that ever happened to me!
I love everything about that game!

I was probably 11 or 12? I remember trying to find something online that would just fill in my otome loving void before I could figure out what I was looking for. I don't know how i stumbled upon it but it was a miracle. I would just watch romance scenes of animes on YouTube.

Around 10~11 as well, when I discovered My Candy Love! I started searching for anything remotely similar not long after lol and got into visual novels as a whole :) (I was already familiar with VNs before that, but I only got interested in them after playing otome!)

I was 12-13, at the time Mystic Messenger was really popular so I got curious and decided to try it. That's how I learned about otome games but the one that actually got me into them was probably amnesia, I had recently watched the anime but I was expecting more from the ending so when I learned it was actually adapted from a game I just had to play it 。◕‿◕。

I know it was when I was 9 years old because my oldest My Candy Love account was created in 2012 😭 I'm 23 now!

And anyone could tell that I was just a kid playing too, every time I revisit this account I'm shocked that I didn't have many images because I didn't follow any guides and my favorite one was Armin (no offense to those who have Armin as their favorite, but he's my least favorite nowadays.)

I was at university when I first tried playing otome games. Wasn't interested in games featuring romance before, but things change (for the better)

I think I was around 14-15 years old, and I saw a gameplay video on YouTube haha 🎀

I started playing these games at 14 without understanding choices or route guides, so I got stuck in Bad Endings a lot. There was no help back then, but the art kept me hooked until I eventually figured out how they worked.

I started lets say... between 11 and 14 maybe? I can't remember exactly, my memory has always been a bit fuzzy but I do remember I started with games like the shall we date? the first mobile otome games they did, they used to be easier to find modded apks that allowed me to just have unlimited tickets and the gems for premium choices haha I used to save every CG and send it to myself on email but years later my dumbass cleaned my email and completely forgot I had them! Such a loss  Also with My Candy Love, Mystic Messenger... Tokimeki memorial for ds, Yo-Jin-Bo too... and when I discovered the amazing world of translated games, I sort of played ijiwaru my master in Spanish, a game I definitely shouldn't have been playing at the time lol

When i'm 16yo i think??? Amnesia Memories is my first otome, and i was having so much fun. Because of that even i learned japanese because at that time there weren't many otome games that were localized.

I guess 14/15? So many memories of scrolling Lemma Soft forums! (P)lanets is probably the first otome I ever played.

But I got even better memories of having to retype a lot of lines on google translator because of my terrible english back then...

I must've been around 14 or 15 back then, still in middle school. I was completely obsessed with anime at the time. I stumbled across the Diabolik Lovers anime, and when I went to a forum to talk about it, I found out it was actually based on a game. That was the exact moment I learned what "Otome games" even were. After that, I completely fell down the rabbit hole and started researching and playing them like crazy.

I was 13 or 14 back when I played my first otome game! I talked a little about it in another thread but it was a game by Winter Wolves called "Roommates" and it was basically a silly college romance game. I found it while I was looking in the app store one day and just started playing it and I was hooked cause it reminded me a lot of Telltale Games "The Walking Dead" since that was introduction into the "choices matter" gamesphere. Anyways, it was an ok game, nothing really major about it but the interactions were cute! I actually went back to it about 2 years ago because a fan made a mod that had written additional routes to it so it was fun going back to see what could have been!

I first discovered otome games in middle school when I played Love Revo =)
After that, I completely fell in love with otome games and started looking for more to play! Otome games have become such an important part of my life — I honestly can't imagine my life without them now 💖
