 I think a lot of you who play otome/BL games probably have a bunch of unfinished games just like me :ROFLMAO: So I wanted to ask how you usually manage them. Do you finish one game completely before moving on to another, or do you take a break, play something else, and then come back later?

As for me, I usually pause one game, play another for a while, and then return to finish it later

Let's chat! I'm a new member and I'd love to talk with everyone

I'm usually the same! I play a lot of games simultaneously, pause some, go back to others, replay my favs in between too lol
I'm currently playing Sympathy Kiss, just started John's route in Mistonia's Hope, am replaying Piofiore from the beginning, and also just started Ayn's story in the mobile game Lovebrush Chronicles!

Well... I get bored easily if i only focus in one otome. Atleast i save 2/3 otome games that i want to play, when one route is done then i played the other one, and repeat until 3 of them is finish.

I try not to leave an otome game unfinished, but if I'm really not enjoying it, I drop it.

And I also can't play two or more at once 😭 I feel like I'll forget what's already happened because of that. But I can play other games besides visual novels in between.

I usually stick to one game, and only very rarely do I encounter a game I can't stand and feel the need to take a break with another game. (But if I feel my time's really poorly spent I'll just drop the game)

I do also read stories on the Voltage app though in between actual games, but I usually read side stories, not the main routes.

i prefer to have one ongoing long game paired with one shorter one ^^ i tend to binge games easily but if im playing an intense vn which is also really long it kinda leads to me getting drained >< so i usually take breaks to play a route from shorter / lighter game or just replay something i really like !! this way i prevent burnout while also slowly tackling my backlog

I usually finish one game completely before moving on to the next. I like to immerse myself in a single title for an extended period. When real life gets busy or the game's content feels too heavy, I'll take a short break and come back to it later. I think I enjoy playing more when I can take my time and continue where I left off once I'm feeling more relaxed, rather than forcing myself to rush through to the end.

I usually play two VNs at once for those genres, but it'll be one otome and one BL. I don't have much trouble keeping up with them that way. I avoid playing two long games at once though

I don't really have any unfinished BL/otoge for now, as I like to track them on vndb to avoid confusion (I'll usually add a note with the route I'm currently doing and the ones I finished). I stall on eroge sometimes though lol

I generally play through multiple games, sticking with one until I need a break then jumping to another and sticking to it until I need a break from that, and so on and so forth. Sometimes it works well as a rotation system and sometimes I end up leaving games by the wayside for wayyyy too long (and in some cases, like when I made the jump from playing localized VNs to playing in JP, I ended up dropping the games I was playing then outright). I think it's really hard to have a "perfect" system if you're not a very fast player, so I've learned to stop worrying about the fact that I just juggle games for really long periods of time.

I usually hyperfocus on one game at a time if I'm engaged enough, but if it's still early days and I'm still working through liking it, then I would play another game at the same time and see which one peaks my interest more. You just generally have to bounce between them when you get tired enough of one and see which ones get you more excited and engaged, stick with that one and then finish the other!
