AI art in otome games

Many people on our side resist AI painting, and the style of many AI paintings is very strange, even somewhat greasy. Therefore, I don't like otome games with an AI painting style.

I'm against AI-generated images in otome games, and honestly I don't even consider it "art." AI can be a great assistance tool for references or small support tasks, and I understand that we live in a modern world where technology keeps advancing. Still, I don't think it can replicate the emotion, intention, and human touch that real artists put into their work.

Maybe your drawing looks imperfect or even "bad" in your own eyes, but that imperfection is still part of you. It carries effort, personality, and feeling. I'd rather see something genuine made by a person than something fast and soulless generated in seconds.

Otome games especially are built on emotional connection, so replacing artists with AI just makes the experience feel emptier to me. Thankfully, I personally haven't come across an otome game that heavily relies on AI-generated visuals yet, at least not for now.

I don't mind it if AI is used for minor details, but it becomes a problem if the game overuses it for everything.🫥🫥

A Big No. Also, I dont consider AI works to be art. I would not trust the product quality if they used AI in their work.

I'm not entirely against AI itself... I completely understand when indie or solo developers use it. AI boosts productivity, makes things so much more efficient, and helps prevent burnout while expanding what a single creator can achieve.

But when it comes to commercial gaming companies using AI—especially for the illustrations—I have to admit I'm not a fan. First of all, it takes away opportunities from actual illustrators. Plus, AI art is generated by learning from the hard work of many different artists. It feels unfair that AI is taking away their jobs using the very art it learned from them.

AI is developing so fast, and even though some AI art looks a bit awkward now, it's going to look incredibly natural in a few years. I'm honestly worried and sad that the profession of an illustrator might disappear entirely. And this isn't just about illustrators; every profession will eventually face the same challenge. While AI definitely brings convenience to our lives, we really need to be careful about it displacing human jobs.

So to sum it up, I'm just against commercial Otome games using AI.
