How important is the visual style of otome to you?

It's nice if the CGs are beautiful, but you get used to them as you play, so I think the story and the voice acting are more important.
If the standing illustrations look nice, that's good enough for me.

I'd say it decides about 8 parts of my motivation, but that's just for starting the game. After all, we're playing visual novels, the visual will help with immersion, but if the story is lacking it would be for naught. After all, we even dated pigeons, PIGEONS, and its story is revolutinary I must add.

Art is really important for the immersion into the story. soo yes. however the most important things are the plot and character interactions, they really determine if i am going to continue reading or not.

honestly it's pretty important to me, i've tried to play some where i don't care for the art bc i'd heard the story was good, and while it was still good, the experience wasn't as enjoyable to me and sometimes completing those games felt more like a chore than entertainment (since i'm a completionist and once i start an otome i have to finish it haha)

In my case, it's very important and I hate that aspect of myself 😓 because if the visual style isn't to my liking, I tend to dismiss them easily. But there are already several games that have a very well-made style and are boring, while others that aren't to my taste, I've given a chance and they've proven me wrong.

I value the storyline above everything else. If the characters and plot are compelling enough—or if the gameplay is fun—I can accept even rather rough artwork. On the flip side, if an otome game has a boring story, I won't be interested in it at all, no matter how stunning its art style is.

I'll read anything no matter the quality of the art. What keeps me invested in the work is the plot, writing style, and well-written characters first and foremost.

I wouldn't say it's super important to me but I will say that it's the first thing that catches my eye so I normally end up going with those visual styles (although I'm not too picky on visual styles). There are times where I'll look more into a otome even if it doesn't catch my eye as I try to try most of them out!

I tend to gravitate toward games with better graphics, but in the end, it's the quality of the story that really sticks with me.
Even if the visuals are stunning, I've given up on games where the story just didn't resonate with me.

I might have gotten spoiled a lot by Kazuki Yone and Usuba Kagero artsyle, those old games (Will o wisp, hakuouki, edel blume) are one of my first and hoonestly it is pretty hard to play games without that 'good' art style for me, cause I love beautiful art and those decade's old game is still prettier than some of recent games might I say (whoopsies don't flame me please ;;w;; )
but sometime I do find it playable if the story is interesting/intriguing enough.. I do enjoy plot.

Something attacks me would be because it's fun, for example, gs1-4, La Corda d'Oro, or it has very good story. Sometime play for a cast but only play this character and then drop the game. Better the graphics are not too bad but it can be ignored if the story is good enough :).

Years ago I would have said not so important, but these days we have many more otome releases, and I find myself only picking games with pretty art to play or put on my backlog. The otome games market is larger with more competition now, I feel a bit spoiled getting to choose what I want to play haha.

I used to play Frozen Essence. I really loved the author's writing but nowadays if you tell me to play a game with the same artstyle, I'd be reluctant 😅

I always read the description, reviews and stuff first to decide whether or not to pick up the game. If the art is good then it a win-win.
I do tend to be easier on games that have a good art ;'') but still, it'll be hard to countinue with game that have a bad story. I may end up dropping it multiple times just to force myself to finish.
For me, as someone who also plays text-only games, I dont care much about artstyle until it really matters and becomes the elephant in the room, killing the vibe.

For me, it's very important; one of the things that attracts me most to a game is the character art style. There have been times when the game's synopsis sounds great, but the art style doesn't quite convince me, and I end up not playing it.

This is very important to me, but if the story is really engaging, I'll try my best to overlook it.

I'm actually incredibly picky regarding artstyle, but I've been lax lately because it's getting harder to find stories, which I'm glad, since it let me give Scarlet Hollow a chance. One thing I will always (mostly) avoid is 3D models.

I do judge a book by its cover, so I do judge otomes by their artstyles. Blah blah yeah great plot screw all that! I'm here for one thing and one thing only! I wanna date all the HOT GUYS! lmao, so with that being said if I don't like how a guy looks or the artsyle, I steer away from the entire game itself.

The artwork in otome games is very important to me. Since I'm going to be spending a fair amount of time playing the game, I want to be able to look at artwork I like.
Also, it changes the immersive experience of the game.

I care a lot about the visual style, but if the story is really good, I don't pay much attention to it. 🎀

I'd be happy if the visual style was to my liking, but I tend to prioritize the characters and story more than that.
