What’s your reason for playing otome games—the VAs or the story’s setting/background? 🤔

I'm mainly drawn to the plot, worldbuilding, and story atmosphere. The voice acting is a nice bonus, but what really gets me into a game and keeps me playing is the world setting, character designs, and the story itself.

I do it for the story. Tales that could never really happen in real life have always excited me.

For me, the story is the biggest reason I play otome games. I love getting immersed in the world, the characters, and the emotional journey of each route. A good story can stay in my mind for a long time even after I finish the game.

I usually check out the voice cast first, then look into the world-building. But at the end of the day, the story is what matters most. Even without voice acting, a great plot can still leave a lasting impression.

The story and the design for sure, I'm not much of a VA searcher, I only look for it occasionally (specially if I'm playing a BL, it's quite mindblowing to realize the guy making those sounds also voiced famous characters from famous anime's) and sometimes I do get to know new games by doing that but I'm more of a "this game looks so good I'm going to play it"

The story and setting for me are the most important. I don't think I could play the game if it wasn't interesting to me. Then, I would say the VAs would be bonus but not a must. It is a treat to experience well-performed acting for sure!! Fukuyama Jun was a big reason I played Birushana haha

The story and artwork mostly. It has to have an interesting premise for me to pick it up and even better if the MC has some sort of personality than just a doormat. VNs are always exciting when I notice the similar voice acting but otherwise I never really look it up.

The story! I don't really go out of my way to specifically play games with my favorite VAs in them- coming across them in whatever I'm playing is just an added bonus.

The story and characters have to look cool and engaging, having VAs that I like is a bonus!

Both but for me, story setting is priority #1. Then seiyuu and.
If the story doesn't impress me, I'll skip it, even if it features my favorite seiyuu. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

The characters (love interests). For me, even if the plot/setting is good, if the love interests doesn't catch my eyes, I'm not playing.

For me, the art style and story setting come first — voice acting is more of a bonus.
When I pick up an otome game, the first thing that catches my eye is the illustration quality.
If the character designs, CGs, and overall aesthetic don't appeal to me, I probably won't even give it a chance — no matter how famous the voice cast is.
