Is the first otome game you played your all-time favorite?

Yeah it is one since it was Hakuoki on the psp I played it on. It was what introduce me into the genre so it is a special game to me.

I dont even remember the games I used to play :Ddd My early days were more about mobile games, most of the time, they weren't really otome =))) and I tended to drop them cause they were so grindy. Also, not many had a good or memorable story.
These days, I still dont have a fav otome game =))) A good game will keep me hooked for a while, and then I'll move on.

not really, more like test runs to see what I like, what I don't

Yes, but more because of nostalgia rather than favoritism. I love Amnesia Memories with all my heart, although some routes are not my style (I'm looking at you Toma) the game marked my life deeply. I've played tons of Otome games by now, some were better but Amnesia can't be topped it off, the art style, the memories (no pun intended) and the nostalgia are hard to beat.

Not even close haha. I have a lot of nostalgia for it but my actual favorites came much later. Bustafellows is probably up there for me, still need to find time for the season2 though

Not at all... If we don't count the flash games, I think the first otome I played was Love And Order... It has been so long I do not remember if this was really the first game to be honest. It used to be a commercial game (but the developer has made it free now) and I got it from a different forum.
It got everything haha, a basic stats system, handsome guys and a yuri route... Now that I think about it, it was a good start. The writing and overall quality isn't impressive, but I give it a special place. I wish the artist was still active, the art was pleasing to the my eyes.

I can't quite remember, but I think Mystic Messenger was the first otome game I've played

Amnesia, like many users here, was my first proper otome game. Played it when the English translation was published, since back then my Japanese language comprehension was basically non-existent
damn it's already been 11 years since the English edition of Amnesia ...
I haven't played it in ages and I don't think I'd like it rn, but I remember the laughs I've had reading Toma's route and all the hype building toward Ukyo's... definitely left an impression on my mind.

Not necessarily my all-time favorite, but it definitely holds a special place for me because it was my first otome game. Since then, I've played a lot of games with better storytelling, stronger character development, and more polished writing overall, but your first experience always leaves a different kind of impression.

For me, that game was Mystic Messenger. Even now, there's still a certain feeling attached to it that newer games can't really replace...

Code Realize is my first game but not my all-time favourite. But still definitely in my favourite lists. Hakuoki has taken that spot.

It used to be when I was younger, but now? no. My first otome is one of those old mobile otome games. I think what changed is my preference/interest with certain tropes and plot

it's club suicide! It's too long so I haven't finished it, but the characters and some endings def left marks on my life. Homicipher was among the first otome games I played.

To be honest, after playing more titles, I found others that I liked better, but it was still a decent experience

yes, without a doubt. It had everything I liked. Or maybe it's because of that first game that I started looking for others similar to it. 🥺
