Which route do you usually go for first in a visual novel the good ending or the bad ending?

I have a small question—I'm curious which route everyone chooses first when playing otome visual novels For me I usually start with the bad ending. I kind of like experiencing something sad before getting to the happy parts. If the game doesn't force a specific order sometimes I don't really mind which route I go for first.
I'd love to hear what you all think! I know these games can be pretty strategic, so I'm wondering—do you follow guides from people who've already finished the game, or do you just play through on your own? I do use guides sometimes, especially when I can't collect all the CGs

Let's discuss!😄

I always start with a happy ending first, and do the bad ending later (skipping). I'm a coward so i can't handle the bad ending lmao
Except, if they really forced you to do bad ending first then yeah i do it regardlessly (ex: virche).

Also i always using guide! I tried play blindly once, and i always got bad ending.... So i'll stick with guide.

i agree with everyone in the comments here!! i always go for bad endings first, because i dont want to be hurt AFTER ive got my happily ever after. id prefer to have hurt/comfort, not comfort/hurt!!!!!
also when you clear good endings after bad ones, they might hit so much more, because youve already seen these characters suffer and fight for their lives, so when theyre just. happy. it feels SO GOOD!!!!!!!
(even though not all good endings are like, strictly happy.. looking at you sweet pool)

That's actually an interesting question! And I also agree with everyone else: I'm very much the 'give me the bad news first' kind of person. (ᵕ • ᴗ •)
But it entirely depends on the game! In some games, where I am VERY invested and want to see all of the content, I'll do the bad endings first so sort of see all there is to see. In others, if I just want to enjoy the 'good' version of the story, I'll just do that and not look back. (And then have the 'you didn't read all the content tho...' at the back of my head (╥ ᴗ ╥)...)

Bad endings first! I actually like bad endings lol seeing an anguished character can be it's own kind of fun ;)
I do prefer saving good endings for last (though I've been disappointed in some good endings before!) since they give a intended-ending feel and usually explain more stuff than the bad endings

I use guides after the first playthrough just to save time! The first route I play blind

I usually go good first then bad as it means I know that the first ending was canon to me. Also I kinda like a happy ending while I'm reading the full thing but bad endings I skip until the choices so I miss the initial feelings alongside the route.

I usually do the good endings, then the bad endings… But if there's a canon "best" ending, I save that one for last! (I always use guides, because I'm too scared of accidentally getting a bad ending)

I prefer to get a good endings, although it can depend on my understanding of story building and a story between LI, such as if my position is in a scene where the choice that I think will get a bad end, so I take the bad end first then continue with the good end

I also like to collect the bad endings first. I just can't handle the heartbreak of going through a bad ending after experiencing the good one. If there's no recommended route order, I'll start with the love interests I'm less interested in and save my favorites for last. I guess that's what they mean by "suffer first, enjoy later." :akazukin_puppyeyes:

Since I go in blind on my first playthrough, I usually try to follow my heart and aim for the best outcome with the character I like. But sometimes those guys start challenging or even insulting the protagonist, and it hits my pride... so I end up clapping back 😅 and that's how I accidentally land on the bad ending XD

i always do the bad or good ending first saving the best ending for last. how i do it is that i do all the bad/good ending choices then when those start i save then continue to do the best ending choices then do the same and save then go back to load the bad ending first then do good ending to finally finish with the best ending xD

i'm easy, i often go for the good ending first to get that sweet serotonin, then if i have the willpower and time i read the rest😔 and it hurts me each time and i never learn lol. maybe it's a sign to change the strategy...

i usually do good ending then bad bc the first ending i get tends to be the one that sticks with me the most/feels most canon for my playthrough so i save the bad endings for later

I usually go blind in my first playthrough, but after I like to collect the good ending first, and then the bad ones. That's mostly because I suppose the good ending is the "true ending" and i treat the bad ones as kind of extra endings

I'm also part of the people who play blind on their first playthrough, but after that I prefer playing the bad endings first and finish with the good endings for each route. It makes the experience feel more rewarding to me!
