Do you use a guide or go in blind when playing otome games?

I always do the first route blind to get into the atmosphere and then I will use the walktrough because i like to get the good ending at first =p

BLIND FOR SURE!!!! that's the most entertaining point while playing otome games for me!!!
I really like how the story ends by depending on my choices! if i get the HE in the first try without guide, i feel really proud of myself hahahahah
because it means that i got the right answers, i understood the character's inner thoughts~
The good sensation of ''conquering'' LIs :akazukin_evillaugh:

(even thought in the real world it is impossible to understand it lol)

As many people have already mentioned, I like to do a first run without a guide and then use one to get all the endings. I've tried not using guides in some games, but if I keep getting the same ending, I get frustrated :akazukin_rage:

i got youuu, specially for those games with a LOT of BAD ENDINGS XD

I just follow a guide the whole time. I don't have time for bad endings — especially when most of them are pointless and just make me feel bad.

Blind once until I get a non-bad ending, then I look at a guide for the rest

I like to play with guide. Because it's difficult to have all collect. And it kills interest to repeat story lines.

sometimes i want to go blind and see where it'd lead me, but… for some reason it is really hard for me not to follow the guide lol i guess i'm afraid to mess up…
i end up watching and following recommended walkthrough order and guides all the time

I always use a guide. Blind play is scary for me.

(°⌓ °;) You mean, like, Reine des Fleurs? (still my dream to be able to even play it in JP without a dictionary glued to my hand tbh...)

As for me, I feel like at some point, when I grew up, I got stuck into this pattern of needing a guide otherwise I wouldn't experience it the RIGHT way which is a bit silly, but... I should probably just throw caution to the wind and say 'we ball', and go in blind with some games that I'm not particularly invested in. Maybe??? What worries me most of the time is that I'll just have the wrong route order because as far as I understand, a lot of games nowadays gate lore drops behind specific routes, and so having a pre-decided order can be helpful so you don't spoil yourself for future revelations? I don't know, man. Scary stuff. (。ᵕ ◞ _◟)

You mean the route play order? there are some games that forces you to play the exactly order as they want you to do, and for others which is more freely to play, i think that is just optional if you want to understand the whole world setting better.

Most of the time, the LI that i like the most has the strongest plot lol so when i´m collecting the rest of the LI´s endings, the hints or the details that are linked with the true ending wouldn´t surprise me anymore but will give me a clearer picture of the whole story setting.

So i think that the playing order is just optional, depending on how you like the reading experience.

on't like reading game guides, I prefer figuring things out on my own.

I mostly use guides for older games since it's a lot easier to get all the endings in the newer ones.

I usually go in blind the first time when I play an otome game. After I've gone through it once, I start using a guide to get the other endings. I used to rely on a Chinese website back when I used Baidu, but unfortunately I lost it lol. Nowadays I have to search for guides all over the place... that site had everything! it was insanely complete 😭

I usually go in blind for my first run to see which ending I naturally get. After that, I'll follow a guide to achieve 100% completion.😆

I used to play without guides, but it was a disaster; I missed a lot of things in the game. So now I use guides to enjoy the game more and not miss anything! 💓

same. but understanding the LI's thoughts really depends on good writing and good translations. There are times where the writing for the characters are so inconsistent or the choices so vague that I get whiplash when the dialogue after the choices is completely off from how I interpreted the question or situation.

the level of pride I feel for completing Yang's route from Piofiore on the best end without a guide is peak though.

You're right! some games were translated somehow vague? which reduced my judgement about taking the right choice and at the end needed to find a guide lol

But most of the time i will try to play the original language game and use text hooker, so even if the translation is not accurate i will try to understand the original dialogue.
