It's been a while since I played something that left me with an emotional void; I think the last game that left me in that state was Expedition 33. I want emocional damage. Anyone who wants to, feel free to recommend the saddest games you've ever played!

Drakengard - not the most jaw dropping gameplay, but for the tragedy I'd recommend it.
This one's already on my list to games I have to play since I played Nier Replicant and Automata. It'll be one of the first games I play when I finally get back to using my old CRT TV and find where my brothers placed the PS2

Chaos;Child, it's my favorite VN, but I always rate it 9/10 while the second place in my list is a 10/10, why ? because the ending was so bittersweet but so good, it was too much, so 9/10 but still my favorite.

I've never played that one, but in my head I always thought Chaos Head was a horror game XD I'll give it a try! But hey, since you've set the suspense, I'm curious to know your second favorite game too!

The second one would be Umineko, truly a masterpiece, I would like to explain why I consider it a masterpiece but maybe that would contain spoilers.

Chaos;Head is good horror game, not at the level of Higurashi but still a good horror game, Chaos;Child feels more like mystery than horror

I'll play both then, thanks for the game suggestions!

I don't know if you have played any of the Final Fantasy games, but I think both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XV are what you're looking for. I never finished FFX because I lost my save file but FFXV's ending left me really sad and emotional.

I hope you enjoy both! btw, do you recommend me any visual novel ?
Unfortunately, I don't know that many visual novels besides otome games :( Maybe I should make a thread with suggestions for good visual novel games recommendations! Anyway, there are only a few that I've played, so maybe you already know them, but here goes: Saya no Uta, Danganronpa, Steins;Gate, the Ace Attorney franchise, Doki Doki Literature Club, Hotel Dusk, Zero Escape (the one for Nintendo DS), Another Code, and Trauma Center.

I simply love the Final Fantasy franchise! I've already played and platinumed X (although it cost me my sanity having to farm on monster arena and complete the Sphere Grid for all characters XD) and I've also played XV, I just didn't finish the Ignis DLC! If you can, give a chance to playing FFX again. I know losing your save is horrible, but the game is incredible and it's worth it! By the way, if you lost your save on PC, I can try to help you recover it. I once lost my save in Expedition 33 because there was a power outage and the save got corrupted. If you want, I can give you the website I used to recover my save!

That's great and yay another Final Fantasy fan! :D I haven't play that many Final Fantasy games but I love the ones I've played so far. Haha I feel you on the farming part, some rpgs can get pretty grindy but you want to do it for the characters. I do plan giving FFX another chance one day! Thanks for offering to help, but I lost my save file on my Vita so I'm pretty sure it's gone forever. I'm glad you were able to recover your save file, it really sucks when your save file gets corrupted/lost :(

Metro Exodus, it pierce strike through my heart when I get into the ending.
And another one when I finish one of the DLC.
Still Wakes The Deep is a good one too
Oh, do try to play Spec Ops : The Line if you haven't

To the Moon, It was a very emotional experience to me, would definitely recommend it.
Also maybe Omori too, I loved the art in this one!
I definitely think Cyberpunk 2077 endings are mostly bittersweet xd
I'd heard of To the Moon a few years ago but ended up forgetting to play it, thanks for reminding me! I've played Omori, I love it as well as Cyberpunk 2077, although I didn't finish the last one (the game takes forever to load on PS4 ಠ︵ಠ) thanks for the recommendations!

Seconding Drakengard, it's my favorite Yoko Taro game (along with Replicant)! I actually liked the gameplay well enough, if you're used to PS2 musou is not that bad lol

Chaos;Head Noah is pretty good too! (I never really got into Chaos;Child tbh felt a bit weaker in the SciADV franchise for me). I also recommend The House in Fata Morgana if you haven't played it!! One of the first VNs that got right into my feelings lol

drakengard and fata morgana are excellent recs, i love them also.

i remember you saying you don't have a pc but i'm pretty sure you can play saihate station on your phone too. all endings are tragic/bittersweet (gameplay is kinda minimal, though) and the dlc twilight railway (which i posted here on misc! but it probably won't be of much use to you since i bought it on itch and i have no access to ios/android version...) is even more tragic. i never pass up a chance to rec saieki haha
