I played the og and loved Giulio! I had so much fun with it and found Giancarlo to be very charming. I'm glad manga gamer picked it up after so long and gave it an eng release. I really want to play bad egg and the other spinoffs at some point too.

I actually played w a fan translation initially but wanted to support the new release so I started playing it again recently. I liked Ivan's route as well!! I didn't get to play all of Luchino or Bernardo yet so I'm looking forward to that. I mostly held off on the other games bc I was juggling too many games.

i didnt like him at all in the og game so i wasnt hyped for him in bad egg. It took a while for me to like him as a LI in bad egg but he grew on me ! he is def better than in the og game, and less cringe

His first h scene plays a part in why i dont like him with gian, but theres not only that tbh (otherwise i would also not like bernardo and ivan even if its less violent and theres more dubcon elements while giulios is only ra/pe).

Oooo moving it the the last h-scene to show their trust would be perfect. It would be a great almost tense moment too where the reader isn't sure if Giulio can control himself. Then it can branch off and potentially become the bad end where Gian bleeds out. That first scene definitely soured Giulio for me too and all together I think his is the weakest route of the four. Also I found it a little silly how Giulio was almost supernaturally good with knives. Every other capo had a realistic role with realistic skills, though that gets pushed a little during Luchino's end where he and Gian storm the hideout alone. But Giulio can single-handedly take down huge groups of armed men and that's all he does. I know he has subordinates, but we barely see or hear about them. That's all personal preference though and how I feel like Giulio is a little tonally inconsitant from the other routes in general.

I liked all the very cute and borderline creepy things giulio said to gian, like him being an existence more precious to him than god lol. Yeah, worship him. ALso, i remember giulio repeating a lot that gian was "cute". Gian forcing him to call him just gian was a cute scene too, especially when gian said "pinpooon, one chance left !" idk i remember this pretty well because i thought he sounded cute lol. Same for gian blowing a kiss to giulio while he is on the phone. Gian def acts in a more cutesy way with Giulio, which he doesnt do with the other capos. I think its mostly because gian as a character needs to balance out giulios personality which is more timid. But im still a little bothered by the fact that gian seems out of character once he starts getting with giulio as a "couple". I wouldnt have felt it this way had we been showed that gian could act like this with his other lovers. He would def be a little like that with Bernardo. ON rarer occasions with Luchino (since Luchino unveils his bratty side). With Ivan im not sure, maybe in moments of weakness or when ivan really needs reassurance ?
On another note, i really expected the second H scene to be gian topping giulio. THe dynamic would have been reversed compared to the first H scene and it would have made sense. And giulio def bottoms sorry i dont make the rules. We were robbed from bottoms Giulio and Ivan. Also, i dont find giulios last h scene particularily memorable, but i know i wouldve probably enjoyed it better had gian been topping

Gian is definitly the type to hide things, but with how he acted right after the first h-scene it was clear that this was something he couldnt just "forget about it." That's why it was so strange he drops it right when the next h-scene needs to start. It was a traumatic enough event that we basically lose a day of the route to Gian being sick in bed, but not important enough to impeded the final h-scene. I think your reasons for Gian's behaviour make a lot of sense, and I think if the route was longer it would have been nice to explore them, but definilty think it was mostly so the next h-scene could happen.
I'm also not into food play, I can never stop thinking about what a mess they're making lol. I agree that the scene is where creepy Giulio shines. The Gian worship was great.

I personnally dont mind Giulios supernatural skills. Its true that he is more shonen anime than the rest of the cast tho, even if Gian himself is a little supernatural too with his good luck which is kind of like a supernatural power too. The scene with Luchino was a little supernatural too, but not that much since they had the surprise effect on their side yk? But yeah Giulios subordinates dont matter at all : he kills everyone on his own, and also i remember giulio saying that he actually only had like 2 or 3 subordinates overall?
I agree with giulios being the weakest route overall, thats why i started doing bernardos route before even finishing giulios first lol. I admit i did get a little bored at some point in his route, and same for Ivan (but for ivan it was mostly at the beginning and i got less bored than in giulios). Its almost a little contradictory that the route i was the most bored with is the one where the most crazy stuff happens kinda.
I guess now you understand why i advised you not to start with giulios route lol

a few thoughts about the s3xual violences of each capo (not talking about hut scenes) :

Yes gian was so traumatized by the h scene that he got sick and all. But then he tells giulio to forget about it a few days later... He is almost more resentful towards Bernardo and Ivan even tho the game implies he had more trauma with giulio. Idk if you feel the same but id almost say that the more s3xually violent one capo was with him, the less Gian stays mad at him. This is how id rank the s3xual violence from each capo, from highest to lowest : Giulio - Ivan - Bernardo - Luchino. Bernardo and ivan could be switched tho, since bernardos can be interpretated as even more violent since he actually betrayed gians trust and gian used the ra/pe word.
Giulio : full ra/pe scene. Traumatized gian. But once gian sees giulio again he is very nice to him and says lets just forget !!! i forgave you already. Correct me if im wrong but i dont even think he calls out Giulio on this even once ?
Ivan : tried to ra/pe gian, tied him up and hit him, no nice words. But then gian asks him to fck him, okay. Gian only calls Ivan out on this behavior in one bad end, and takes a very light revenge. But he never says that ivan tried to assault him.
Bernardo : gian consented but then bernardo pushed his limits by assaulting him on the street while gian would have been ok with at least trying to have s3x with him had they been in the hotel. Gian himself uses the ra/pe word. Gian thinks about this scene on several occasions and he isnt that comfortable with bernardo anymore. He calls out bernardo on this several times, in bad ends and in the good end he tells bernardo that he still didnt forgave him (fair). Theres even a line which says "ra/ping someone in a back alley is a crime fellas !!!!". I remember gian flinching once when bernardo approaches him, which he doesnt do with Ivan.
Luchino : outside of the pee thing, he respected gians consent. But to talk about the s3x gian had with Luchino, gian uses the ra/pe word several times, even if its just to joke/to be edgy. He uses that word more in this route than in the other routes where way more s3xual violence occur. Before their second H scene, gian even gets mad at Luchino because they had s3x together (i know he isnt actually mad about this and that its just frustration because luchino wont confess to him what is eating at him, but still), and he calls him a ra/pist. He never calls any of the other LIs a ra/pist. Gian uses more violent words with Luchino than with the rest of the cast. ABout the pee thing, gian is obviously and rightfully mad and wants Luchino to apologize : gian didnt request that from any of the other capos, if i remember correctly.

omg the more we talk about it the more i think it would have been waaaaay better than what we got. Giulio bottoming for gian ? peak. He would enjoy this a lot, and it would reverse the dynamic in the first h scene where gian was just assaulted. It would have made maybe more sense for gian to be more comfortable with topping instead of bottoming again, since it could revive his trauma with giulio. And top gian is peak too. And omg giulio is def a service top if he tops... He would do everything gian wants, and it would also completely reverse the dynamic from the first H scene where gian didnt have a say in anything. This time, he could have been in TOTAL control of everything happening. And Giulio showed how devoted he could be in the hut scene where he scks gians D. We needed more of that, now that i think about it this hut scene is my fav giulio h scene. Giulio being a service top and showing gian how much he worships him... i can picture him being on his knees and all that. Why didnt we get that ? Also, we wouldnt have lost bratty gian in giulios route, had giulio been bottoming or been a service top. GIVE. US. PEAK. PLEASE.

It is a little wild that the craziest stuff didn't make the route less boring. I think that outside the crazy stuff there wasn't as much for Gian to really do on Giulio's route. I felt like he was either watching Giulio fight or worrying about him. Gian felt like much more of a participant on the other routes. I found Ivan's route fun the whole way through, though he got the advantage of being my first. I really appreciated the heads up for Giulio, I don't know how I'd feel about the game overall if his was my first.

I think youre right. It's honestly a really interesting trend. This is a great overview of each capo.
Giulio: Nope he doesn't call out Giulio at all after the fact. But thinking back on it it, I think Giulio gets off the hook because Gian views him as unable to control his actions. After learning from Ivan that Giulio was crankin' it to the dead gd members, Gian blames himself for not being there to keep him in line. Then after the second h-scene Gian resolves himself to stay by Giulio to lead him and keep him from darkness. Giulio gets a lot of descriptions in the story as naive and even calls himself simple. So while Giulio is the most violent with Gian, he, at least to Gian, is in the least responsible for his own actions. The other capos make a conscious choice to assault Gian. All this doesn't absolve him from blame, but I think its a possibility as to why Giulio gets off easiest.
For the other three I'm not sure why Gian reacts inversely to the severity, but he definitely does. Some of it might be the time period the game was written in where dubcon was more normalized in romance. Of course there's also the localization choices, I'm not sure how the language around these scenes changes in the original Japanese. Going back to inside the narrative, maybe Gian felt like he could be more upset with Bernardo and Luchino. They both place a lot of care in how they treat Gian outside those moments so Gian feels more betrayed. But he also feels like he can say something to them and they might actually change their behavior/apologize.

Together we can create a peak Giulio route. Giulio really feels like the most obvious choice for bottoming. We already have a top scene for Gian in the prison, so having at least one route where he gets to top a LI once shouldn't out of line. Right? Giving Gian back control for the second scene would be a perfect emotional climax for the route. Ivan would be a whole fight before he agrees to bottom, Gian would barely get the words out before Giulio was 100% on board. Ivan still need to get topped, don't get me wrong, but Giulio's route needs the most help. Bratty top Gian is peak. Gian bullying Giulio about how much he's enjoying himself and how well he's doing for him? Gian in total control over the cr-5's unstoppable killer?Please, please, please. Tennenouji do this for us and you will be reincarnated as a lotus flower. Is there any more top Gian in the other games?

Yep I got all of Giulio's ending. Fire away with your thoughts. Personally I felt super uncomfortable for the whole thing, but I can see it as a realistic bad end for Giulio.

In the other capo routes, gian actually learns things about the jobs. In Giulios, he indeed just follows around and watches ? Sorry gian youre useless, go help the other capos lol. It could have been nice to have giulio teach a few fighting techniques to gian : he would then actually learn somthing, and it would have probably led to a few bonding moments. Outside of the first days where gian goes to the restaurant with giulio and where they have a few convos in the hotel, gian doesnt get to bond much with giulio compared to the other capos. Gian being in love with Giulio really doesnt make sense to me, seeing his route.

Giulio is indeed seen by gian as unable to control himself.

Its tricky because giulio def shows symptoms of being mentally ill and needing help, but also i dont like how gian decided that he should be here for him not to do this again, and that he was kinda responsible for letting him go on his own. Im also not a fan of their relationship^dynamic, with Gian becoming giulios dog trainer kinda ? Their relationship is def unequal in many ways. Gian basically decided that he will become giulios leash, idk thats not really romantic lol. Btw, with how many dog metaphors this route had, kinda suprprsing they didnt include some puppy play things (well ig they do with giulio licking gians palm)
From what i heard, the translation of the game is really good. So we dont really have to worry about localization choices that much. Gian feeling more betrayed by bernardo and luchino makes sense too, because gian def didnt expect anything from ivan. But also, gian wanting bernardo and luchino to apologize implies that he wouldhave liked ivan to apologize too, but didnt ask since he knew it was no use ? its a little sad lol. But neither bernardo nor luchino apologized so anyway...

Yes i was also baited by the gian prison scenes... until the end of giulios and ivans routes i was expecting gian to top, because of those prison scenes and because gian topping them made so much sense. But we were robbed. I usually not care that much when the MC is always bottoming but Gian topping a few LIs from time to time would have been so peak. Gian topping the strongest killer who is cutesy only with his boss gian ? craaazy. Taming Ivan would have needed work, but the reward would have been fire.
Unfortunately no... gian is bottom only. The og game is the only game where gian tops. Tennenouji needs to release other LD1 games lol
The only thing i can think about is the Bad Egg preorder drama cds. I didnt get to find Luchino and Ivans, but i found Bernardos and Giulios. I didnt listen to the whole track but Gian is a dom in these even if he doesnt top. I think he ties Bernardo up and licks his face (??) and for Giulio he makes him go on his knees to sck him and then he makes fun of Giulio because he enjoyed scking him. Its unrelated to what happens in Bad egg btw so its no spoilers. Its just bonuses lol
btw if someone happens to have the Luchino and Ivan Bad egg preorder cds pls pls PLEASE send them my way...

a few things i liked in giulios various endings :

the last scene in the good end is soooo cute, we finally learned what made giulio obsessed with Gian. He has been in love with him for like 20 years already lol

i did like the scenes about the attack in the church, and gian going crazy. These were good plot elements. ANd omg Luchino asking gian if he should carry him to his bed and gian saying "no please dont because ill fall in love with you" like YES please do!! Luchino did carry him princess style in the end tho, because gian collapsed hearing about the church news. Too bad we didnt get a cg for this.

other missed opportunities for giulios route : First Giulio is very yandere coded but we didnt get to see him acting yandere that much. Also, i really do prefer giulio in the common route and other capo routes than in his own route. He doesnt have the same personality. In the other routes he is a little creepy with gian but it still is kind of cute how he is interested in him, and he doesnt act too cutesy. In his own route giulio becomes unable to properrly talk to gian and.. ends up... talking... like... this... Its annoying. ANd it doesnt make sense : why is giulio unphased when he meets gian in the prison while he had been yearning for him for 20 years ? but then he becomes unable to properly speak with him in his route ? To make sense giulio should have been flustered during their first meeting too. ANd i wouldve preffered Giulios personality to stay the same than in the common route/other routes, because i think their dynamic was better. Giulio becoming very flustered would have been better if it only happened during the romantic/H moments imo. But idk, im mostly weirded out by how he doesnt have the same personality whether youre on his route or not. I wouldve liked it to be more consistent, like for the other capos. Even Gian changes his personality in giulios route.

From what i heard, the translation of the game is really good. So we dont really have to worry about localization choices that much. Gian feeling more betrayed by bernardo and luchino makes sense too, because gian def didnt expect anything from ivan. But also, gian wanting bernardo and luchino to apologize implies that he wouldhave liked ivan to apologize too, but didnt ask since he knew it was no use ? its a little sad lol. But neither bernardo nor luchino apologized so anyway...

Yeah the choice to make Giulio have some kind of mental illness or disability, which is what "simple" was used for in that time period, is an interesting one. Especially when you add on how his first h-scene goes, Giulio not being held responsible for his actions, needing someone to control him, and the narrative descriptors of child-like and naive. I'm sure its not a malicious choice by the writers but Giulio does fall into some negative stereotypes. I think getting to spend more time with Giulio outside of killing GD would have done a lot to flesh him out and maybe given the chance to avoid how flat he feels.
On its own, scary person and the one that controls them is a trope I really like. But with everything else surrounding Giulio, I didn't really care for it here. Now that you mention it, I'm also surprised we didn't get any puppy play.

The only thing i can think about is the Bad Egg preorder drama cds. I didnt get to find Luchino and Ivans, but i found Bernardos and Giulios. I didnt listen to the whole track but Gian is a dom in these even if he doesnt top. I think he ties Bernardo up and licks his face (??) and for Giulio he makes him go on his knees to sck him and then he makes fun of Giulio because he enjoyed scking him. Its unrelated to what happens in Bad egg btw so its no spoilers. Its just bonuses lol
btw if someone happens to have the Luchino and Ivan Bad egg preorder cds pls pls PLEASE send them my way...

Ah sorry I forgot to specify which end! I just got tomodachi life so I might have stayed up a littleeeee later than I should lol. His bad ending made me uncomfortable.

It was a good ending, and I liked it. It made a lot of sense, it just made me uncomfortable to read. Alas, art and stories will do that sometimes lol. Giulio was in such a fragile place that when Gian dies it flips a switch and all of his control is gone. It was the one bad ending I knew to expect in the game after learning more about Giulio and really showed just how bad Giulio could get with no one to ground him.
That ending was the one that had me feeling the most for those two. It was so perfectly sad. Bernardo and Giulio are definitely the two that are in love with Gian no matter the route. I remember during Ivan's ending after Gian chases after him at the very end, Bernardo makes a comment about how hard it is to watch him go. And I clocked it at the time as pretty loving for someone whose route we weren't on. But back to Giulio's ending, knowing that your love is interested in men but didn't choose you? Heartbreaking.
More beautiful and tonally consistent words from our poet lol.
I loved all the church scenes in the game. Any time we got to learn more about Gian's past was a plus. Gian doesn't get a lot of chances to interact with people that aren't associated with the cr-5 in some way. I like seeing how the church brings out a different side of him. And when he was upset and he started calling the Abbess Mama again was really cute. Any time Luchino was on screen I was begging him to take to Gian away!

I would have loved if Giulio

went harder on the yandere path. In Ivan and Bernardo's routes, theyre suspected as being the traitors, but what if in Giulio's route he makes Gian doubt everyone? Gian would become isolated from the rest of the capos and Giulio can keep him to himself kinda of like how Madarame's route played out. I took Giulio's behavior between his route and the others as him being unable to handle focused attention from Gian. When Gian isn't focused on him, he can act normally. That still doesn't mean it's not annoying though. Saving the flustered moments for the begining of his route and the big scenes would have helped a lot.
I also think that having Gian miss a whole day on Giulio's route to illess was a missed opportunity. I liked it as a consiquence to the h-scene, but I think that the h-scene should have changed so Gian could spend the next day with Giulio. The whole sick day really just made me long to be on the other's routes again and Gian needed more time interacting with Giulio.

I plan to get most of the missing scenes this week. I definitly have to see Ivan's hut scene if anything. Probably should have downloaded Tomodachi Life after I did that lol. But I'm putting the lucky dog crew in that sort of counts right? Well... Everyone but Giulio, sorry buddy. No creeps allowed.

Btw, another reason im not a fan of this pairing is because it doesnt matter whether giulio is in a relationship with gian or not. From what i remember you mostly see it in the other games (scret diary and bad egg after storys) but its not a spoiler, it just becomes clearer id say : by being in cr5 alone giulio changes for the better, he also learns to joke around with the other capos who become friends he can trust, and gian is his boss he will protect no matter what and who gives him orders. Giulio stops wanting to sniff dead bodies (!!) and he learns to be happier being around gian and cr5 alone. He learns to like humans who are ALIVE. I do prefer this friendship/respect/admiration from afar dynamic rather than giulio being gians lover. Giulio can be a better version of himself without having gian reciprociate his feelings. Giulio just needs to be surronded by good people who become a loving family !

Omg i dont remember bernardos comment in ivans route... idk how giulio feels if he knows gian is in a relationship with other capos, but bernardo is def sad. In his last h scene he tells gian that he shouldve maybe made a move on him sooner, so once gian is in a relationship with one capo he def tortures himself for not having made a move on gian before. I do think it depends on which capo tho, because i think bernardo would def console himself if gian is with luchino because he respects him and knows he will treat gian right. With giulio, he probably at least tell himself that gian will be 1000% under protection. With ivan well, i think bernardo is def salty about it, even if later on he learns to respect ivan as a fellow capo!
Also, i do like that sometimes the routes cross each other. In bernardos route, theres a bad end where giulios grandpa comes to kill bernardo and gian because giulio has been hurt. It makes the story more alive this way because characters arent always stuck in 1 specific route

same for luchino!!! please pick up your husband !!! this is also one thing i like about this game, you get to see other LIs act nice or even romantic/flirty towards gian even if you arent on their routes. They all have good moments outside of their respective routes

Outside of pairing with Gian its really nice to hear how much he changes for the better. Giulio at his core needs to be surrounded by good influences to offset all the harm his grandpa did. Knowing that he gets to open up and be more friendly with the others makes me really look forward to reading those scenes. There's that potential we knew Giulio had! Knowing that though does sour Gian's influence on him in the original game. Gian is there to keep him in line, but we know that he can return to that darkness the moment Gian isn't there to control it. Gian then turns into more of a crutch for Giulio. He never has to work through everything because he can give up control and follow Gian. So I'm happy to see him having a non-romantic relationship with Gian that helps him heal.

I think Giulio might not be sad when Gian is in another relationship. Having played all the routes, I would guess that while Giulio loved Gian, he never thought he would get a real chance with him. When you have no expectations you can't be sad. Bernardo is definitely sad in the other routes. Gian ending up with Luchino is the best case scenario in Bernardo's mind if Gian isn't with him. And he's totally right for obvious reasons lol. But I do think Bernardo have the strongest bond and a lot of respect for each other, so if Gian will be in good hands. Ivan though... That would keep him up at night. Thank goodness Ivan is a capable capo, otherwise I don't think Bernardo would ever get over loosing Gian to him. In time he would make his peace with it when he sees how happy Gian is, but I don't think the heartbreak would every completely leave.
I also liked how side characters moved around. With each route having a different plot, it would be easy to isolate them. But knowledge we get about a character in one route can be transferred to another even if their actions aren't the time. Like how Giulio's grandpa will always trash. Speaking of that bad ending in Bernardo's route. He says to Gian, "You're the boss'..." and then gets cut off. Gian is the Boss' son semi-confirmed? There have been some hints to that throughout but this was the most obvious one. It's not a super surprising reveal, but what is surprising is that Bernardo knows. If anyone was to know, it'd be him and Cavalli. But I assumed that the boss kept that info from almost everyone to keep Gian safe. Do they every go more into this in the other games? Or did I interpert that scene totally wrong and that's not what he meant at all lol.

Aside from Ivan's hut scenes I need a bunch of random scenes from picking different choices and a couple of bad endings. I found a guide for getting everyone to 100% so I'll work my way through that. I did get to see Ivan's hut scenes and once again, wild. I loved Gian calling Ivan's bluff in the first scene. He never expected him to actually go through with it so Ivan had no idea how to react. For the second scene I will be totally honest, I was expecting toes and was a little disappointed to not get them lol. I had thought the cg for the switch version was just an abbreviated version of the scene, not a completely different one. Let Ivan get a little freaky with it. It was nice to see him again though, it feels like so long since I completed his route.

I think I'm going to take a short break for tomodachi life and then go for secret diary. I gotta gather my courage to deal with Bakshi again lol. But I know I won't be able to stay away for long. I went looking for fan content online and was really shocked to find so little of it. Some of that might have been where I was looking and my refusal to get a twitter account though lol.

I do think its even better that Gian and Giuilo dont need to be in a relationship for Giulio to become better. Tbh, none of the capos actually do, even if for some it would help more : ivan is also very happy to have gian as a platonic pal, even if he probably has an inconscious crush on him. Once gian becomes capo, ivan feels way better being in cr5 and he feels more respected. Thats a beautiful relationship too. But anyway, Ivan never actually tells himself gian is his lover even if youre on his routes, he has too much internalized homophobia for that. For luchino and bernardo its a little more complicated. Luchino being with gian def helps him get over his widow status and getting out of depression/self hate. But he also gradually learns to feel better about himself with Gian around only. Whether he would actually find himself another life partner is unsure tho. Bernardo well, he def still wants to be with gian but id say he is happy to have him close to himself as they are capo/boss. He still has his plan going on (if gian is single). But i think he also learns that he doesnt need to have kids to have proof that he had been alive on this earth.

What other capos thinks when gian is in a relationship :
well first, Ivan is clueless on all routes. Im sure he never realized when gian was dating any of their colleagues. He maybe had doubts whether gian and bernardo had s3x tho.

Yes, its kinda official that Gian is Alessandros biological son. I say "kinda" because none of the games actually write it in a way so that theres absolutely no doubt, but its considered canon. Bad egg brings elements which could make you doubt tho, but Alessandro is gians father. Im sure they talk about it in the end of giulios route too, theres GD capos who imply that Gian is more than just a capo for Alessandro. But indeed, the only people who know about gians biological parents are Alessandro, Cavalli and Bernardo. Bernardo knows because Alessandro basically asked him to teach and take care of his son, if im not mistaken. ANd yes in other games they def go into this subject more !! we even get to learn about gians biological mother (spoiler : she was a beautiful blonde lol who wouldve guessed).

Same as in the og game, gian did it and made fun of ivan. Then the next night ivan says he ll return the favor BUT he takes gians shoes off and licks his bare feet. I remember gian moaning a lot which i didnt expect for a "sfw" scene lol.
A guilty part of me really likes ivans hut scenes. I love their games of domination, gian making fun of ivan and saying his D smells and how quick to ejaculate he was. Ivan becoming flustered and really enjoying it was nice. And then for the f!ngering part i like that gian got to enjoy it but still managed to make ivan be on the loser end by ejaculating on him and telling him how thankful he was. In ivans hut scenes gian was sooo witty and funny, so many lines are just iconic. Ivan definetely lost the battles he himself started.
Btw, some stuff that are great about ivans character is how "normal dude" coded he is. Then when I'm on a different route, I feel a little sad knowing they won't get the help they need. So it's a good feeling to know Giulio turns out alright even when hes not with Gian.

On the reverse of Ivan not know about Gian's relationship. Ivan would totally think his relationship with Gian was a secret, but everyone would know. He can't keep his mouth shut and we see how obvious he was with Gian during his best ending. With his internalized homophonia, it would be rough when he realized everyone knew and saw them as lovers. That might be what it takes for him to admit to himself that they are lovers, but not after some loud and long denial about it.
Luchino would definitly know if Gian was with Bernardo. I agree that he wouldn't be heartbroken about it. I think he might be a little sad though looking at their happiness and remembering his relationship with his wife. But ultimatly, he'd be happy for Gian and his partner since he knows what happiness love brings.
Bernardo would know for sure. And while he's sad about it, I think he'd funnel that sadness into helping from the shadows. He'd tell Gian's partner about things he likes, places he likes to eat, important dates. He'd work hard to make sure Gian was happy even if he isn't the one directly responsible for it.

I actually really like that they don't confirm it outright in any one ending. It was a fun mystery to solve throughout the course of the game gathering clues. And knowing that makes a ton of things make a lot more sense. Gian is put into an orphanage but is treated well and brought into the cr-5 at a young age. He's paired with Bernaro, a member the boss saw a lot of promise in and trusts a lot. He's looked after by Cavalli, one of the men the boss trusts the most. And then of course, his taking over the cr-5. But omg, Bernardo had guts on his route to go after the boss' son, after he was explicitly told not to! I get it though, Gian's a treasure.

I was able to for Ivan and Luchino, but I'm missing 2% for Bernardo and Giulio. I'm sure its a few lines of dialogue I missed somewhere. But I got all the endings and scenes now. You were totally right too, it was most of the prison scenes and then some bad endings. It would have been nice if all endings got tracked to help me keep them straight. Now that I'm as close to done as I can be I think I have my official route ranking. Story-wise I'd put them Luchino/Bernardo-Ivan--------Giulio and for just the characters its a three way tie between Luchino, Bernardo, and Ivan. Bernardo and Luchino's routes were strong and I had a lot to think about them afterwards. Ivan's was good too, but his real strength was himself as a character. I always had good time when Ivan was on screen, no matter the route. While his route's story may not have given me a ton to think on, Ivan himself has a lot of depth. But the star of the game for me was Gian. He was such a great protag and I loved spending time with him. His relationship with each LI was different but he still felt like Gian in each one (aside from the places/route we've already talked about.) His VA did some excellent work too portraying Gian's wide range of emotions.

Lol! I'm not surprised it had to be totally rewritten. But changing it to licking his shoe is great. No notes. I don't know what crazy mental leaps Ivan was taking to get from get "revenge/return the favor" to "maybe I can have a little nibble, as a treat." They really got as close to the nsfw line as they could with that change lol.
I loved Ivan and Gian challenging each other, neither one wanting to back down and show weakness. And any time Gian gets to bully Ivan a little is always a plus. It's a great summary of their dynamic in the later route. Challenging Ivan will get him to do much more than he would on his own and Gian isn't one to back down either. It makes for some great scenes and also pushes them both to be better people.

Making Ivan so relatively normal compared to everyone else was a great choice. It helps him stand out from the others but also ties into his roots and his connection with the common men in the cr-5. Its refreshing to see all these super beautiful men and then there's just some guy lol. Luchino asking that also caught me by suprise! I also got a different version of his hut scene when going back for the 100% and saw that he tells Gian they can forget it happened and chalk it up to a one-night stand. I really liked that they acnokledge that it happened and still give an explination to why its never brought up again. If any of them would be able to have a no strings attached night with Gian without it effecting their relationship, it'd be Luchino. The other three would never be able to get over it.

That pink jacket has got to go. So happy they finally burn it for Bad Egg. I'll have to go digging around in pixiv then. It's been ages since I've looked for stuff on there, I almost forgot it existed.

It explains why Gian has always been loved by the older men of the organization. On top of his charisma ofc lol. Also, idk if you remember but funnily enough in one of the first prison scenes with ivan he just asks gian if he got promoted because he is the boss secret child or something. For once, he was into something!!! He called it out very early on lol and the more i think about it this moment was very well thought of because if not for it i wouldve maybe thought very early on that actually gian had some blood ties with the boss. But the game basically making it out of the equation in the first scenes was a clever choice, because i def didnt think that gian would actually be the boss son until some routes end talked about it again. The devs were probably thinking that it would be too obvious of a plot reveal so they insinuated doubt early on.
Yes thats also one of the reasons i think Bernardos first Hscene can not make that much sense not only does he assault his future boss BUT gian is also the only child of the current boss and the favorite of a lot of high ranked men in the organization. Bernardo loves his rank in the hierarchy and the organization, but what he did would basically owe him torture and death... All this because he didnt want to wait for him and gian to go back in the hotel lmao. Bernardo being selfish and calculating isnt out of character, but him being careless like that is def out of character. And he had the audacity to do it on the streets where any cr5 member could have wandered... anyway.

I would say that Luchino and Giulio are more "straight to the point" than Bernardo and Ivan because i would say theres more debates you can have about Bernardo/Ivan compared to Luchino/Giulio. Like, i looove Luchino and he is so much of a pleasant surprise (him appearing as an overconfident and violent dude at the beginning but its quickly revealed that he is actually very easygoing and the sweetest mafia man ever lol), but his character and giulios are easier to analyze compared to the other 2 id say? what do you think ? Well, especially Bernardo. That man def has too many layers haha
btw did you get the bonus cgs once you reached 100% of a LI? its the 4 last cgs that appear in the cg gallery, at the very last page

Yes, if any capo besides Luchino get their hands on gian once theyd never be able to let him go. I can totally picture Gian and Luchino having s3x once or a few times in the "neutral" route after gian becomes capo, just for the fun of it. Or being actual fwb. But also, if they start being too close to each other they would def fall in love like in Luchinos route. And also, its most likely gian who would start to fall for Luchino first like in his route (luchino is the only character who got gian falling for him before he himself fell for gian lol, all the others got crazy about gian before having gian reciprociate their interest)
Gian would also accept Bernardo hitting on him after he had a few drinks and hooking up too, but bernardo would def not be able to not pursue gian afterwards... In the "neutral" route i can see a love story forming between either Gian-Bernardo or Gian-Luchino. Not really with Ivan or Giulio and i dont think the events in their respective routes which allowed them to get that close to gian would happen again. What do you guys think?

Everyone who plays these games are so right. Gian is wonderful. I 100% understand why the LI's are so into him. How does he rank for you in bl protags overall?
For pairings I think Luchino-Bernado/Ivan--Giulio. Luchino pulls out the brattiness is Gian and I'm so here for it. I like Ivan and Bernardos parining equally but in different ways. Bernardo's is very compelling, but his relationship with Ivan is just so fun/funny to read. Theyre all great, so even though I have an order they're all very close. I agree that Luchino and Giulio are more straightforward characters. Though I did have a lot to say and think about Giulio, they weren't the things the writers intended for sure. With Luchino, his endings did a lot to boost his route in my eyes. His and Ivan's were the only ones where I liked all good and bad endings. Bernardo and Ivan stand out because their complexities felt intentially and cohesivly written. I could enage with them how the writers clearly wanted me to. Bernardo gets extra points too because of how deeply his complexities tied into his plot. Ivan had that too with his place and status in the cr-5 as a non-italian, but Bernardo's tied into almost every point in his plot. Bernardo could be put in Luchino's plot and be fine, but Luchino couldn't be put in Bernardo's.
I got the cg's for Ivan and Luchino. The other two are still elluding me... But the two I can see are great! I gotta listen to the drama cd's since I know theyre based on them.

I can see it happening. I think given enough time, Bernardo would make some kind of move on Gian is he wasn't in a relationship. With Luchino it would be slower, they'd need time to get to know each other without the plot pushing them together, but it could happen. Ivan and Giulio definitely need some kind of outside force pushing them. Giulio would never try for something more with Gian on his own. I think he'd be too scared of ruining what they already had. Gian would need to spend a lot of personal time with him to develop feelings and without being paired together for capo training, he wouldn't have the chance. Ivan would never put it together that what he's feeling is affection. While he would probably develop feelings in a neutral route, he'd need some pushing to anything about it or even acknowledge it. Pure hypothetical for fun, but I think if Gian wasn't in the picture Bernardo and Luchino could potentially end up together. They both have a lot of baggage and could understand what the other went through. What do you think?

They couldve done that outdoor scene for their second/last H scene. And anyway it being assault ruins so much stuff. Id say its the only plot point thats badly written in Bernardos route because of how stupid of bernardo that was. And it could have been so much more romantic... just picture it : bernardo tells gian that he will betray the promise he made to the boss by trying to make gian his lover. Gian would have been quite touched to know that Bernardo would betray the boss if it means he can have something with gian. By doing so Bernardo would also give to gian the power to denounce him to the older men. i never thought about it! I personnally dont think they could end up together because they def arent each others type and i dont see bernardo being less interested in Nastacha because of luchino. But i agree that they understand each other a lot, but i only see it as very good friends whod trust each other with their lives. But now that you mention it, im thinking that seeing Luchino trying to tame Ivan would be very fun lol. On another note, i could see Bernardo and Luchino agree on "sharing" gian and having a 3way relationship but maybe im just having fantasies haha. In like, bernardo and luchino wouldnt be together but they like and respect each other so much they wouldnt mind gian being with both of them idk

Ok that scene you created for them is perfect! It would be the such a good way to show just how deeply Bernardo cares for him. There could still be the same tension afterwards as the original scene, because Gian would be thinking about Nastasia. But at the end of the route Bernardo would be able to prove himself again. He put the boss ahead of a ten year relationship, so for him to then put Gian ahead of the boss is a serious declaration. And of course for Gian to get so much explicit power over him, given willingly. Swoon. I would have loved if Gian got to swing a little more power around.

Both Gian and LD1 are in my top three for sure. Gian is up there with Towa and Konoe for me. Aoba is spiritually on that list, but he's so deeply nostalgic for me I feel like I can't objectively rank him or dmmd. Its gets to be in its own tier lol. I'd probably put Slow Damage and Lamento in my top three with LD1. I do wonder how that ranking will change as I continue to play things outside n+c. I don't have as much experience with games outside of them as I'd like. It's only recently that its gotten so much easier to play things, especially jp only games. How would you rank LD1 compared to everything you've played?

Honored to be here lol. I do see what you mean about Ivan. Their relationship is the perfect fuel for romantic/s3xual tension. But once they do get together some of that tension disappears. If the game was longer, I think that would be the perfect time to dig into Ivan's internalized homophobia. The tension would then become Gian wanting their relationship to grow and Ivan trying trying to come to terms with being with a man. Ivan finally admitting Gian is his lover would be the next big buildup and finale for the route.

I believe they are the preorder ones for each retailer, like they went on to do with bad egg. There's one for each guy including Bakshi, though there's seemingly very little info about them on the english speaking internet. I was only able to find the name of the Luchino one, Sunset Kiss. There was someone selling it on ebay for like 80 dollars. I'd love to be in the place where I could drop that kind of cash on a short drama cd... Alas I'll just have to hope it pops up online eventually.

Luchino trying to tame Ivan would be really funny. Luchino would just decide one day that Ivan is his new project and drag him kicking and screaming into being becoming a "proper" capo. Italian lessons where he gets a kiss for the right answers. He'd be mad about it and couldn't explain why, yet he'd keep coming back and improving. If Gian learned about it, Ivan would never hear the end of it lol. Bernardo and Luchino sharing Gian is a galaxy brain level thought. Out of everyone they're the only two I could see it reasonably happening with. Ivan and Giulio would be too possesive. But with those two it they could probably make it work. They each can give Gian affection to make up for the fact that theyre so busy with their duties. Diavan's most powerful polycule.

its not that different from the actual game tbh, its just that it would replace the assault with something romantic and in character too! but it would do a lot. Because even if i actually like the h scene its the worst point in his route. And yeah it happening differently wouldnt have changed the rest of the route so it would have been great but anyway, lets settle for what we got because we cant do anything about it :( its just very frustrating to me, with how much i love this game and characters haha

you can probably guess but LD1 is my fav BLVN series. Idk which one i prefer between the og game and bad egg tho. I still need to do other popular BLVNs like adelta and holicworks ones but idk if theres any id prefer over LD1, lets see!
yeah now sooo many good vns are translated ! in my time we only had some n+c ones and a few very well known and older blvns, and MTL was very bad.
n+c games are always good, but all of them have something "missing" kinda. Its either i like some pairings, the story, or characters, but theres no game of them where i like all these stuff, unlike for LD1. They are still good quality and are part of the BL games i enjoyed the most tho. Also, now that ive played other things, id say the n+c h scenes arent that good (well obviously theres great ones, but im talking in general) and i think the scenes are quite short too.

thats why ivan is quite behind luchino and bernardo for me as a pairing with gian, because i mostly like the tension between ivan and gian in the og game. I did ivans route second because i was eager to see all that tension and how their relationship would evolve to be romantic. But i dont really like them as a couple, id rather see them as besties

if youre interested in the LD1 cds theres a thread here where BLFan posted many of them. Only a few are missing, like the og game preorder ones and most bad egg preorder. But otherwise most are here !

I agree that n+c hasn't made a perfect game yet, at least for me. I think they'll always have something that doesn't resonate with a reader, which is to be expected. But when they get you, they really get you and its easier to look past some of the weaker points. How long are other games scenes typically? I always thought the scenes in n+c games were a solid length, though again I don't have a ton to compare them to.

Since I did Ivan first I was expecting that framing of looking back on the past for all the routes. I really liked it, looking back on cherished memories, who they become in the future. I was little disappointed his was the only route to do it. I would have loved to see even a little glimpse of future Bernardo or Luchino.

I'll have to go take a peak. I typically don't listen to drama cd's, but with how little fan content there is I gotta get my LD fix somehow. Its a shame that there's still some missing ones though. I know it's harder to get a hold of them, so it's just nice to hear so many were able to be shared.

Where uhhhh is this official art? For scientific purposes. It makes me so happy to know they had the vision and made some tho. At least with n+c, it feels like there's very little official art outside the game. Unless of course its dmmd, which is an outlier and shouldn't be counted lol.

the og game scenario was already very good but bad egg has an even better scenario. I do prefer og gian rather than bad egg gian but we do see more of his leader potential in bad egg! and bakshi does have good things to offer in bad egg, even if i dont wish for gian and bakshi to be a couple/pairing

idk, but for ex LD1 hscenes are on average longer than n+c ones i think? and theres more per LI too. but i maybe dont remember that much for n+c since i did their games a long time ago, except slow damage
im playing the Paradise games nowadays and i would say the scenes are longer too

More per LI is true, n+c is is kinda stingy and only gives two per LI. I was working off that assumption when I started playing so after I got the hut scene I assumed we'd only get one more. Pleasantly surprised to see there was more afterwards.

same, i was used to like 2 scenes per LI so i expected that, usually with one being non penetrative s3x and the last one being penetrative. In LD1 theres 5 per LI so we cheered. and idk i think they are better too. There isnt that many n+c hscenes i really liked, compared to LD1 or other games. I loved the rai+konoe ones, some dmmd reconnect ones (but i think it makes sense because this game is actually hscene focused lol) and slow damage ones (mostly from the last 2 routes). Wbu?
and for LD1 i actually like almost all of them, except giulio ones and bad end ones
