What games marked your childhood?

Kingdom Hearts is my favorite franchise, and I do believe is because I fell in love with it as a young girl!
There's also the Zelda games, specifically ALTTP, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. For the Castlevania games, besides SOTN (obviously lol) I got really into Aria of Sorrow and Rondo of Blood. There's Mana and Dot Hack series as well, and Tomb Raider, Mass Effect and Gears of War on the 360 :)
That was pretty accurate with the preferences; it reminded me of my younger brother. He's a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts and Zelda (currently he's forcing me to replay Kingdom Hearts II on critical difficulty, but just because I like a challenge, I accepted! Besides, for years he's been trying to convince me to play Zelda, but just to spite him I say Zelda is a boring and outdated game and tease him by saying KH4 will never come out just to see him complain, lol, I love ragebaiting him!). Have you played Castlevania: Portrait of the Ruins? That one, along with Lament of Innocence, are my favorites!

By the way:

I have, actually! I got the chance to play Portrait of Ruin on original hardware (my younger brother had a DS), and I found it really fun with the two playable characters. It's fun seeing the setting with characters who aren't Belmonts, as well as a new look into Bloodlines. I believe it's the best Castlevania title on the DS!

I like Lament of Innocence as well, since it gets into the beginning of the Belmont saga, Leon is a very romantic (and tragic!) character, and would probably be my favorite if I wasn't a sucker for white haired pretty boys lmao (Soma and Juste were more my type haha). I like him a lot though!

Even I'm starting to doubt the KH4 release lol Nomura really likes to keep players waiting.

My younger brother also has a DS, and I wanted to replay Portrait of Ruin on it, but he keeps saying he'll only let me download games on his DS when I finally give Zelda a chance, haha. I think Nomura must be focused on FF VII, maybe? Maybe it'll come out soon! But hopefully it won't be the mess that KH III was; I was a little disappointed that the story was basically in the DLC (which I still have to play, by the way!).

The first role-playing game I played was "Under the Moonlight Tales". At that time, I thought all the characters were very handsome, and each had its own storyline, which made it really enjoyable! ~

Uncharted Waters II, when I was a kid, I played this game so much that I memorized the world map and the locations of tons of ports.

I was addicted to The Sims back then when I was younger, my favorite was Castaway. I remember making two monkey friends there and naming them after my two brothers XD

Dragon Ball Fierce Fighting, the game didn't even have a translation on the sketchy flash games website I used to play it so learning how to transform was revolutionary.

I was obsessed with Harvest Moon (Bokujou monogatari), I would offer daily tributes (presents) to the love interest i wanna marry, u even get to watch your child grow and that's so wholesome!

Too many honestly. I played a large variety of video games during my childhood but I was mostly fond of role playing and strategy games. I loved Shadow Hearts, Skies of Arcadia, Valkyria Chronicles, Legend of Legaia, Terranigma, the Suikoden games, etc. The list is close to endless, I really love RPGs and still do. ❤️
Nintendo games in general and a few older platformers like the Donkey Kong Country/Kirby series were also big for me.
The melancholic atmosphere in DKC2 is especially nostalgic. It's excellent soundtrack only bring everything together.

I was so weirdly addicted to that dumb game!

I also emulated Pokemon Gold/Silver on PC.
